Last week, I released the first issue of my e-zine, the Open Game Bazaar. (It's free and there's a link in my sig.) I see that I already have about two-dozen readers, and I know several of them are here at the CBG, so I thought I'd ask what everyone thought about Issue #1.
Anything you particularly liked or disliked? Anything you'd like to see more of?
(Incidentally, this thread isn't exactly spam; the CBG happens to be one of the Open Game Bazaar's advertisers.)
"The requested URL /e107_plugins/forum/www.lulu.com/d20guy was not found on this server."
Dag nammit. Give me a moment to fix it.
There. The link in my sig should be working now. But then again, the link in my sig was being buggy despite having the correct URL, so if it isn't now, let me know.
The link works now. I tried to read it, but for some reason my computer couldn't handle it. What I saw looked good though, so keep making this. One day I'll have a computer tht can load the pdf's and I'll be able to use the information.

I like it. A lot. You and your mates do good work.
I would tell you what I would like to see more of, but im far too in..inneb..drunk.. and tired, to contribute anything at this point. But seriously, good work.
Question that i forgot to ask.
What happens when you have an undead time-scarred xeph? Undead dont really have a max age, so can they just go "i'm healed, let's kick ass"?
An undead time-scarred xeph (assuming it has an Intelligence score, and thus does heal naturally) can use borrowed time to heal itself once per day, as normal, and suffers no real drawback. It is similar to the perks of being an undead elf, who gets +2 Dexterity without caring that the trade-off is a -2 Constitution (which he ignores).
The bigger issue that might arrise is a combination of borrowed time and fast healing. The intent of the borrowed time ability is that it applies only healing that specifically occurs at a rate measured in days. Since fast healing occurs at rate measured in rounds instead of days, borrowed time ignores it.
Meeps, I thought it was a great first issue, and a great way to start. Do you have particular themes that you will be working towards, or is it pretty much "If it's d20, we'll put it in there" ?

Issue #2 in October is definitely going to have a horror theme.
Issue #3 in January 2007 might have a "New Years" theme (as in: new and unusual time periods), though I haven't decided that for sure.
I am very interested in seeing a horror-themed one :)
What I liked:
OGC, New Alchemy and Clockwork rules/items, in-depth discussion of a rare race. Oh, and the random dungeon.
What I didn't like:
Xephs, legendary weapons that were uninteresting.
What I found okay:
Dolan's Run
What I want to see more of:
Articles about the game itself, such as variants or tips. I know that presenting OGC content is important, but I find that meta articles are the only thing that would get me seriously interested.
High Points
-New alchemical items and clockwork stuff was really great. I always thought the alchemical substances list was a little boring, but with this stuff it looks amazing :)
-The detailing of the guilds was cool. I like hearing about guilds that aren't "warriors' guilds", "wizards' guilds", "thieves' guilds", "merchants' guilds", or any other of the really common ones.
-The dungeon was nice. It could certainly use more predrawn features, such as doors, secret passages, stairways, traps, and the like, but it has its own advantages being blank.
-The potential of the E-zine itself is an upside. It's got room for advertisements which inevitably someone should want to use, as well as a variety of articles.
Low Points
-It seemed pretty short. I'm sure it's a matter of lack of material at the moment, but it's still a fast read.
Middle Ground Stuff
-I never really read the stuff on Xephs. Why? If I remember right, they're from the XPH (I'm not even sure on that) and at the moment I don't use psionics much. I am not saying that the inclusion of them is at all a bad thing, it's just harder to use something when you don't have access to the base material.
What I'd Like to See
-Like Raelifin, lots of variants or tips.
-I'd love to see some short stories, short adventures, and constructed encounters with interesting mixes of enemies with some information about them and how they can be implemented into a campaign. I think most DMs can benefit from material such as short, easily-adaptable adventures that can be thrown into any campaign in the middle of a story, or a new group of adversaries with a different theme and style than what the DM is creating.
I would love to contribute to the next issue if possible. Since it's horror-themed, I don't think I'd have too much trouble doing something for it.
Overall, it's looking very good. Keep them coming :)
Short stories and adventures are what I would like to see more of as well.
Thanks for all the feedback, and keep it coming!

If you have ideas for material you'd like to contribute to the Open Game Bazaar, you can either follow the submission guidelines on page 4 of the first issue or you can just PM me here at the CBG. From there, we can start kicking ideas around.
Sounds good :)
Meeps, if you'll make me a 112x40 image, I'll set up a link on the front page for you. Or hell, if you can't/don't have time to do that, I'll just do it myself... just let me know.
