On August 11th, I leave Baltimore, MD and fly to Honolulu, HI. I will remain there until sometime in December, completeing my first undergraduate semester at the University of Hawaii. Until I get things worked out over there, which shouldn't be too long, my posting may be disrupted.
That is all.
EDIT: The title changed.
Awesome. Congratulations on college, and on living in a Pacific paradise. What're you studying?
Japanese is my major. I might double in Chinese, or just minor in it.
Aren't there posionous spiders and snkes in Hawaii? Plus you've got sharks... This is why I live in NY...

There are no poisonous snakes in Hawaii.
The problem with Hawaii is Rock Fever. I lived on the Big Island for a year, from 91-92. It got boring fast...

*assumes you mean the city*
because poisonous air is so much safer then the possibility of being bitten by a spider that may or may not be poisonous.....
anyways, limetom, congrats on honolulu :D any lack of posting from you, in my eyes, will be more then forgiven so long as you promise to enjoy the island.
also, i think its kinda cool that youre majoring in japanese.... im trying to study it myself, but with less-then-encouraging results. maybe we could cross notes sometime?
Sure.
The free stuff on this site (http://www.timwerx.net/language/) is very useful and helped me get off the ground in Japanese.
And remember, Limetom, Hilo Hattie has the BEST Hawaiian shirts!
Well, I leave today. I have to get to the airport a lot earlier than I planned, and I must give up my stash of Cherry Coke.
I'll update when I can.
So I made it to Hawaii, if you haven't noticed. (I dunno... just covering all the bases.)
My first two weeks (the first without classes, the second with) left me feeling... well... like this. (http://chugworth.com/comic.php?id=263)
So here's all the interesting stuff that's happened...
I went through my first week of classes. All I can say is thank God I went to a college-prep high school. Otherwise I'd be more lost than I am.
I have an insane professor for History. Really... even she thinks so. We were serenaded with gangster rap on our first day. My Religion professor decided to teach in India over the summer. Apparently their summer session runs a week longer than ours, so I have had a replacement professor all week. I have a hippie/surfer-dude for an Astronomy Professor. I dunno... I think his beard and ponytail and his preference for Aloha (a.k.a. Hawaiian) shirts gives it away. My Japanese professor is from China. Cool guy.
I joined the Anime club. People there seem to enjoy the fact that I know Latin... I'm just as confused as you are, trust me. In the Anime club, I also joined the BESM game. This is going to be the third time in real life I've played a tabletop game. This will be the first steady one I will have joined.
I was informed that my skills as a bassist may be required, pending a later decision, from the guy in the room next to me.
And stuff...
