Sample Characters
[ooc]Full descriptions of all the characters can be found in the Age of Madness main thread. Unless otherwise noted, all characters are members of the secret Society of the Black Rose, an occult organization dedicated to the study and understanding of all things otherworldly (and, if necessary, to defending humanity against unwholesome preternatural forces).[/ooc]
Ambrose Morgan '" British physician, alchemist, and Goetic sorcerer; bookish and well-versed in eldritch lore.
Edwin Lazarus '" Zealous puritan, swordsman, pistolier, occult investigator; widely travelled, mysterious past.
Father Erasmus Borgia '" Cantankerous ex-inquisitor with a heart of gold and a talent for interrogation, exorcism.
Brother Ludovico Meneghin '" Innocent Catholic novice to Father Erasmus; can commune with spirits via automatic writing.
Sophia Leroux '" French clairvoyant nearly burned as a witch; able to sense emotional residues.
Trollson '" Scandinavian berserker raised by proto-human cannibals in the Fells; a man of few words but great strength.
William Palmer/Fitzroy '" English libertine and nobleman; afflicted by a mysterious (possibly preternatural) illness.
John Lear '" Amnesiac, heavily tattooed man found wandering the moors of Northern England; competent swordsman.
VladmÃr Albrecht '" Slavic confidence artist, rogue, and one-time madman, haunted by the death of his companion at the hand of ravenous frog-people.
Herr Doctor Wolfgang Prinn '" German alienist and laudanum addict; experiences prophetic dreams.
Juan Henriques Santos '" Portugese sailor and navigator who ran into something not-of-this world in a ruinous city in the Amazon.

Game Storyline
[ic=Back-story]A former colleague of Ambrose Morgan, Francis Marais, has written a cryptic letter to the physician urgently requesting his presence at his recently established lunatic asylum Château de Saint-Sæthryth, a converted castle in the gloomy Pyrenees of French Basque Country, on the southern border of Averoigne. While the director was strangely vague as to the exact reason for his request, his letter speaks of a 'transcendent breakthrough,' and of experiments which 'collapse the boundaries betwixt mind and body, betwixt the Visible and the Invisible world!' He also hints at trouble with the locals, the ill-favoured villagers of an isolated mountain settlement not far from the castle.[/ic]
Other Information One player will have to play Ambrose Morgan, as he's central to the scenario.
I decided to run this one first, but I'll probably run the following scenario next (I know LD wanted to play it in particular):
[ic=Algol]William Fitzroy has tracked down an Arabian alchemist, Ifrahim Alhazred, claiming to be a direct descendant of Abdul Alhazred, the famed mystic and poet of the eighth century said to have visited the Lost City Iram of the Pillars and authored a certain forbidden text ruthlessly suppressed by Christian ecclesiastical authorities of all sects. Believing that Ifrahim possesses a cure to his secret affliction, William has arranged to journey into the Ottoman Empire to the province of Algeria in order to meet the alchemist and, with any luck, obtain the cure for his sickness. When he and several colleagues of the Society of the Black Rose arrive in the dusty town of T'Sbaar, however, they find more than the alchemist waiting for them.[/ic]
In that scenario, someone will have to play William Palmer/Fitzroy.[/ic][ooc]Just thought I'd make an official thread. Claim characters and post questions/comments here and post available times on the IRC players list (http://thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?120995.last).[/ooc]
Here's a link to the main thread for Age of Madness (http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?115517.last) --->http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?115517.last
And while I'm at it, I guess that for now, after some reflection, I'll claim William Fitzroy, "The Rake". (I was trying to decide between four characters and if I need to make a decision; that's the one I'll choose-though I could also do any of the others [Ivan Drago, Erasmus, Lazarus]).
I hope that the template works out for you :) Any suggestions to improve it are welcome!
I could go for playing Ambrose Morgan although if anyone else is very keen to play him I can look at playing another character.
If not him, Juan Santos could be fun.
Ah, I would actually be quite interested in this. Light Dragon said he would be willing to vouch for me if such consideration is needed.
If possible, I am very interested in playing John Lear.
There's just something about the mystery of the character that is just way too fun to pass up.
Welcome aboard!
Yes, I can vouch for CC... This could get confusing (C. Crow v. CC) Hmm...
I'd like to join in too; I find both of those scenarios pretty interesting. Of the characters available I'd prefer to play Juan Henriques Santos.
Re: "post available times on the IRC players list."
Ghostman and Crow and CC, don't forget to post your available times for Steerpike to more easily schedule...
You could either post them here or at this thread: http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?120995
Looking forward to this! :D
