So, this is the companion piece to the article on Darfellans, which can be found here. (http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?12659.last)
In the dark and tumultous water of the Sea of Storms, great rifts in the bottom of the ocean seem to go on forever in darkness. Through these inky portals came the most brutal foes the waters have held, and most likely ever will. The Sea devils arrived from the abyss through these gates in the depths, and now seek to concquer the world in the name of their creator and ruler, Sekolah.
In the deepest, darkest and most frigid waters, these brutal warriors train for combat endlessly. A innate lust for blood leaves them as determined combatants and terrible foes, striking fear into the hearts of those who see them on the beaches. Terrorizing coastal villages and engaging the other aquatic people in battles of honor, the Sahuagin have proved themselves adversaries to be feared and a blight to be destroyed. Unfortunately, their innate superiority and sheer numbers leave them at an advantage against all opposition, and their containment in the Sea of Storms is only temporary.
Unknown to many, the Sea Devils are actually from the abyss, a layer of frigid oceans and inky depths worthy of their evil. Upon escaping however, their goddess was left behind in that dark place. While they carry out their order, many of the high priestesses seek to free their queen from her imprisonment and bring her to the Oceans of the world, thus assuring their victory. Unfortunately, another demon lord from the abyss seek to keep Sekolah, and constantly sends his beasts of great might through the portals of the priestess'. Many Sahuagin have fallen in battle against his followers, and although the foes of the shark-men do not know it, an even greater threat lies in the rifts between lands, for the Kraken waits to devour all the land for himself.
So, thoughts? And how do you spell Sahuagin?
Wow, you are certainly spewing out a lot of ideas in a short period of time, and I can't say I don't love most of them. Now it's about time you tell us (or, at least, me) where you are going with this. We have warforged, shifters (and lycanthropes), Darfellans (sp?), Sahuagin (I think that's how you spell it) and Kraken now. Put them on a world together and a setting you have. :D
Túrin
Oh Turin, I'm not done yet. I have a large collection of supplements, and I am writing out the ideas I get. When and if I assemble a large enough collection of good ideas (by my standards), I'll put it all up in a single thread for this master setting.
you know, it was partly that 'train constantly for combat' idea that led me to the notion of the U-3 module being actually about a training ground rather than an invasion. I like the idea that it is simply the highest ideals, indeed the religion of the Sahuagin to fight.
