We'll, fantasy as in the standard fantasy tropes type. Was thinking about races and stuff in the usual fantasy setting and realized that they all distrust each other. Except humans, which flop about like some kind of fish.
Why the HELL aren't elves worshipped as gods? Or dwarfs for that matter, in that they typically have metalworking and advanced industry before humies do. Or there abouts, anyways. Or, failing gods why not reviled as devils or demons and actively hunted down?
Idea for a future fantasy campaign: Bronze age level tech on some island nation. Most of humanity is still in the stone ages (thus it will be a very local vs a very metropolitan world). But, a dying race of dwarf/elf hybrid or similar spin offs has used their advanced tech to wow humanity into slavery. Humans are now a slave race that does the nasty work of agriculture and war while the (still dying out) race of Whatevers lords over them. They fight in a very disorganized way, each major stronghold having their own city-state nation kind of thing going on. They may or may not have magic exclusively for themselves to have the whole "god" thing going on.
Imagine if a man walked up to your dying dad in a car accident and literally healed his broken neck. Or something. Anyways I thought I'd put that there so I don't forget in case I want to do a low tech kind of campaign world.

kinda Stargate meets DnD?
Yeah, that. I think that is what I'll do.

will humans be the only "slave" race? what are orcs?
There are no other races outside of The Race and humans.

Sounds like it could be a fun campaign, but I don't know about a "campaign setting". Seems like the adventures and the campaign as a whole would revolve around freeing humans or something.
My own setting began with humans as the slave race for Giants. The other races were still in their early ages as well. Humans got a bit of a jump start once they won their freedom, but the other races had the benefit of being free.
If you do elf, you may have a few players wanting to be half-elves (or Muls if you do Dwarf). Could make for a fun sympathetic character (as in a character who is sympathetic for the humans). Would you let anyone play the non-human race?
