Title: The WoW Gap
Post by: limetom on September 05, 2006, 05:52:21 PM
QuoteCNN is reporting that China has over 3 million World of Warcraft players, compared to the US's 2 million.
Gentlemen, we have a WoW gap!

QuoteOur Nation could have afforded, and can afford now, the steps necessary to close the WoW gap.

By enlisting the aid of non-gamers and gamers alike, it is my firm belief that the missle gap can be closed.

Ask not what your country can do for WoW, but what WoW can do for your country.

QuoteDude. Think in terms of percentages of population.

China has well over 1 billion people, yet only have 3 million players?

QuoteThe New Frontier of WoW of which I speak is not a set of promises â,¬' it is a set of challenges. It sums up not what I intend to offer the American people, but what I intend to ask of them.

Even old people and females, the typical non-gamers, must direct their full efforts to this end.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure our survival and our success at WoW.

And if we don't do something NOW, they will have 30 million!
Where are our European allies?  Less than a million players.  Come on, you Euros, we did not save you from the Nazis just to see you fall prey to China's legions of gamergeeks!

It is a shame they didn't let Sellers play the fourth role he was cast for.  It was given to Slim Pickens(who was awesome) at the last minute.

If you buy me the game, I shall play.  Until then however...

I have here in my hand a list of 205 names that were known to the Secretary of WoW as being members of the Anti-WoW Party and who, nevertheless, are still working and shaping policy in the WoW Department.

You sir, are an Anti-WoWist and a traitor.

I can no longer sit back and allow WoW infiltration, WoW indoctrination, WoW subversion and the international WoW conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

I personally fail to see the point in playing WoW.  You pay money to get the game software, and then pay more money every month to keep playing.  And I get this horrible feeling that this is the new trend in gaming, and that Starcraft II and Diablo III are going to follow this pattern.

Don't you see that if we don't stop the Red Menace on this gaming front, more games will begin to fall?
Your Commie Gamer has no regard for human life. Not even his own.

This site is being put on Condition Red. I want this flashed to all sections immediately!

I personally object to monthly fees on a philosophical basis... but I can see why they are there.

But then again, 15 bucks a month is chump change. I'm a poor college student making 6000 a year and I don't even notice 15 bucks a month.

Sixteen hours a week at $8.00 an hour would net you after taxes, in most states, $5,700.

Nice, once I take the last test to earn my MCDST, I'm submitting a resume to the Computer and Network Services office at my school.  I worked there last year through my school's work study program, but they dont let students work there for work study anymore.  Aside from it being on campus (and me not having a car), the other benefit is the tuition discount, so my parents are actually harrassing me to go and do it.

guildwars looks cool

Capitolism is the enemy. It will kill video games, just like it will kill all forms of artistic expression. Diablo3? Starcraft2? HAH! Never. Never ever ever. Not while people play WoW, or WoW2. They'll just add more servers, and more and more and more to maximize profit and more and more and you'll never notice that you're dying. But maybe they'll make new games. They have to divert some cash flow to R+D.

On a side note, isn't it funny how those WoWies dressed up in our uniforms look just like the real thing? Open fire to be safe. <BLASTS limetom>

Nope, Blizzard's CEO hinted in a press release that both of the projects were still on, and that Starcraft II would be the first of the two.
