Today, for the second time, I got a PM in my inbox that was intended for someone else. I think that the message was meant for Vreeg both times. The first time I figured it was just some sort of mistake but now I'm wondering if it could be an issue with the site.
This isn't a big deal and I have notified the sender that their message didn't go where they wanted it to. I don't expect anyone would really know how to fix it but I thought it may be good to make administration aware, just in case something shows up.
That is all,
---D!
Looking back through the tavern, I now see that the message was sent to everyone. Maybe that also happened last time? I don't remember the details of that one.
Yes weave sent a pm meant for vreeg to everyone. Thus was spawned the new cbg meme "everyone is vreeg". This being the latest trend in cabbage-talk since the ever popular "at least I didn't make up a baby"
Yeah but I'm Vreeg.
Yeah, sorry again about the message. For some reason it kept saying that Vreeg's Barolo didn't exist as a user even though I was clicking on him. The next time I tried it I mis-clicked a little lower and hit the "members" button, or something, thus sending it to everyone.
I'm not sure why you may have gotten it twice, though...
Anyways, it's okay because in the end I realized that we're all Vreeg anyways, so it worked out.
Your letter looks allot like a one of those scam emails people get from Nigeria. The ones stating that there is an opportunity ahead and emailing the guy could net you tons of money, if you send him money first.
It might be an issue with punctuation marks in usernames-- the same sort of thing that prevents us from sending a PM to you, Weave.

Do you mean the letter as in my username (The_Weave05), or letter as in the message I sent out to everyone? If it's the latter, I'm not sure what you mean. If it's the former, forgive me because I've never heard anyone use the term "letter" before to describe what I often refer to as a username.
And yes, LC, I imagine it must have to do with punctuation in names. I should probably get around to changing my username to just "Weave" for simplicities sake. Not sure how I go about doing that, though.
From the main page, click "Profile" (top left), then "Click here to update your information" (just above the comment area), then change the text in the very top field. I think.
I'm not sure why there is even an option to send a message to everyone, to be honest. If you want everyone to see something... post it on the forum! It seems like a global PM feature is just inviting mistakes and spammers.
Thanks for the directions, LC!
Would anyone be so kind as to try and send me a simple message to known that I can properly receive them now?

We should all probably send Weave money, just to be sure. Can't pass up an opportunity like that.
Oh, I didn't realize this was one of those. So Weave, ignore my PM response.
This clarifies why I couldn't reply to Weave.

Anyways, I found this to be the most interesting part of the thread.

Kind of wondered that myself, I've fixed this. Looks like a setting was accidentally set to members instead of admin only.
So something got done. Cool. Good job, Vreeg.
For Vreeg's sake, you Vreeg'd it!
I think if we typed Vreeg in gooogle search engine there'd be about 10 pages of this CBG's Vreeg, before any other possible vreeg.

Thre is, humurously enough, another RPG reference that comes up a lot as well, some Derro Necromancer named Vreeg. That, and a lot of refernces to my using "Vreeg's Laws of Setting Design" in all sorts of sites. Google's new changes to their algos are interesting.

The truth is actually a little bit stranger.

Are these collected somewhere? I would be most interested in reading.
I still think someone needs to vreegin' fund Vreeg writing a book on gaming and setting theory and design.
Yeah, I also just came back here because I was notified of this message. I was also sent a message "To Vreeg" last year at some point, but apparently overlooked that message. Vreeg, next time make sure all of your peeps know exactly who to send there sexts to. *shudders*
Sexts...? I hope that was some sort of typo...

I should say: "The things that happen in IRC stay in IRC :P"

The editor would kill himself after the first chapter...
You mean, he'd vreeg himself? :P
Man that new expression comes in handy!
