Okay, I've got it in my crazy little brain that I'm actually going to finish Red Valor: The Saga of the Sword by Christmas. It's a goal I've set for myself officially now, and I usually try to keep my goals.
Great news for Red Valor fiction fans.
Not so great if you love seeing me around all the time.
Let me elaborate. I will still pop in for modly duties, check things out around the site, and generally comment on the major trends here and there. You may even see a couple o' threads by yours truly pop up. And my modly duties, including the CBGuide, will definitely still be going on.
I will not spend as much time as you guys and I are accustomed to around these parts. I won't get around to setting reviews, I won't be chatting it up as much in the Tavern and other related stuff, and I won't be able to really spend the ridiculous amount of time on these boards as I normally do.
But I won't just up and abandon my responsibilities so that I can write, either. If you guys need me for anything, I'll probably still be online. Either e-mail me (for Guide business, use elvendoritos(at)gmail(dot)com, for other business domoarigatomroboto(at)yahoo(dot)com), PM me, or IM me (James Oldcastle on AIM)-- I'll be here in a flash to clean up threads, etc., while Ishy's not on-site.
I'm gonna need more input from you guys to help do things around here, and I appreciate any help I get to keep things in running order. I should be on more and more as my schedule normalizes and I get large chunks of Saga of the Sword written, but I want it to be clear-- I'm finally taking my fiction seriously, and I have honest intentions of publishing it through Lulu (that means you can buy my book, kiddies!).
(This will result in, for the first week or so, a more dramatic drop in my user activity than will likely happen over the majority of this period-- please note that I will be immersing myself in the next week in my fiction for most of my free time)
Any questions, angry rants, or other commentary related to this matter, please post.
Woo! Yay! Books! Art! Wii! Erm... Well, Yay!
Does this mean we should expect SotS to have around 14 chapters? One chapter each week for another 2 months. The you've got editing and whatnot to get it done for capitalist-mas. That's what... 75-100 pages at your curent rate? Or will you be writing overtime, going full-steam, etc?
Lulu is great. You will be happy with the finished product.
Bon chance on gettin' 'er done in your alotted time. Self-imposed deadlines are a wonderful thing!

To be honest-- I currently see the SotS having around 14-15 chapters, yeah. I don't know how it'll pan out in the final product, but I think there is enough content there to actually dish out that level of content.
So your timetable is pretty solid.

i apologize, but after spending two weeks in mississippi, where they are proud of larry the cable guy, that phrase
still makes me wince....
i honestly dont think it would be nearly as bad if it was only said once every ten minutes down there.
on topic, though- good luck on reaching your deadline! hope it comes out all quality-like and everything :)
What everyone else said and also: will you be posting the chapters here as you used to do?

Most likely. Not the final, polished chapters of course, but the "rough" chapters that I have already posted will continue.
I've hit a few snags with the writing, so I'll likely return to my regular schedule of participation at the Guild.
