I can only nod my head in concurrence...
I mean, the names!
MANA-YOD-YUSHAI? Slid? Yug? Kib? Sish? Roon?
Major awesome, and kicker of all flavours of ass.
I've heard it described as the inspiration for both LotR and Call of Cthulhu. I've certainly seen a few places that Tolkein may have ripped off.
And yes, the names alone blew my mind on this one.
In my not-so-humble opinion, good ol' Dunsany trumps 'em both. No contest. It's unpretentious but vivid.

Dunsany?
The guy who wrote this. Came before (and was at least partial inspiration to) both Lovecraft and Tolkien.
anybody wanna gimme a fans-eye-view of what this Pegana pantheon is?
Um... creation of the world/wonders of the world/prophets/END mythos. Really really good ideas and imagery, if not actually used in any kind of story. The first campaign setting.
Lord Dunsany wrote a few short stories that reference this mythos, though I couldn't tell you exactly where to find them, and I doubt they're as cool as the mythos itself. Its definately one of the coolest pantheons out there (and H.P. Lovecraft had regularly admitted that Dunsany is one of his biggest inspirations).
