A long long time ago, on a forum...well, this one, really, there was a poster named Xathan.
I have returned.
Quite a bit of reason for the...years? long absence, none of it to do with you guys, all of it to do with real life, then just a general drop in my forum use overall. Now that I'm back on forums much more often, however, I realized it was time to come home.
Anyone here remember/miss me?
Oh look it's the fabled founder of the "please delete this" thread. Long time no see.
Haha, that old thing is still around? Wow, that's insane. And yeah, it's been awhile. 2 years, in fact, give or take a couple months. Good to see you again Nomadic - how's things been around here?

Good. Alot of things have changed since you left. For one thing I took over for ishy and we're on a new and faster webserver. Plans in the works, games underway, and the usual same old same old. :)
I remember hearing about that - I poked my head here every month or so, and was glad to see you'd be the one following in his footsteps. So in other words, a lot of the same but much faster and with a new turtle? Looks like I came to the right place - it's just going to be weird getting used to so many settings I've never heard of to peruse.
EDIT: speaking of settings never heard of before, Eclipse (dunno if anyone remembers him) is a good friend of mine that gave up gaming and passed his settings on to me, full rights and all that. I'll have him post here at some point to confirm this, just because there's some stuff of his I want to poke around with to see what ideas it gives me.
I'd perused some of your old settings in the past (principally those featured on the campaign setting showcase) and really, really what I'd read (outlaw cowboy martial artists battle Lovecraftian horrors in a post-apocalyptic wasteland?! sign me up!), so it's awesome that you've returned!
Welcome back!
Welcome back! Always glad to see the boards pull back those we thought lost :)
I really, really what I'd read too. :P
Miss'd you mate. Glad to see you're back.
It couldn't have been much more than a month ago I made the comment, "I always thought Xathan would come back." Of course, at that time I figured you actually were gone for good but I guess I was just impatient. The thread you asked tto have deleted is still where we focus our random crap (though it can't contain it all) and has even spawned a couple of legitimated discussions.
I remember you being one of the big guys from long ago, though details escape me at the moment. Good to have you back, hopefully you'll stick around a while.
PS: I was probably Black Jack Davey or maybe Istirith when you left. I've been here since the early days of this site (and a bit before) under different names. I come and go a lot, though.
PPS: I've got a special GURPS play by post game starting up soon that you're welcome to join, if you'd like. I'll teach the system, build players characters for them (if they want), and there is no minimum post requirement. If you're not interested, no problem, just making sure my welcome back message looks as genuine as it is!
Good to see you again.
Welcome back, Xathan.
Yeah! Welcome back! :D
I'm glad to see you return, as I often find myself missing people from the past on here - whatever happened to Raelifin, for example? He was so much fun, with his elf-hatin' ways.
A Merry Meeting, when we get one back.
Welcome Home, Worldsmith.
Welcome back! I do remember you!
We had that guild superheroes thing going on, way back when.
Man what ever happened to Snargash "Wall of Text" Moonclaw?
No. I have no idea who you are. [/sarcasm]
How have you been!?
Some of the old guys seem to be lurking. And now we can counter-lurk since the CBG keeps track of last visits! Snargash was here 2 weeks ago, Raelifin 2 years ago.
Snargash posted in the tavern no more than a couple of months ago. I know I come and go a lot myself and Xeviat is the same way.
I miss Raelifin . . .
Thanks for the welcome backs, everyone!
Yeah, it's odd how some of us old people come and go - here for a bit, gone for a bit, etc. Though the counter-lurking only works so well, Conundrum - I didn't log in during my absence though I still lurked. :P
It's good to see you all again, and great to see the new faces. Now I have to get posting and reviewing and all that. O.o Might take a bit to get warmed back up.

If I remember correctly, you were one of the first to comment on Avayevnon (http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?76712.0). Well, I doubt you'd recognize it anymore, if you feel like taking a look.
WINK WINK. . . [/shameless plug]
Wow, I only recognized the name - so much has changed! Going to look over it right now, since the insomnia is strong in me tonight - fair warning, already taken my sleeping medication, so the review might get a bit..surreal at points.
This is a going point to mention that I am keeping my old policy - you review a setting of mine, I will do my best to post a review on something of yours of equal length and thought.
Who are you, again?
I kid, of course. Welcome back. We're glad to see you here.
