Key

special note: Battle area is capped with a wall of force 80 ft up connected to  the battle area's walls.

[ooc=Pre-Combat Actions]Applies Oil of Magic Weapon (+1) to his quarterstaff, casts Shield, Arcane Sight, and Invisibility.  Starts on space J/03.

[ooc]Beejazz please put the map in the first post. Also there are 4 gates, teams should choose which of the gates they come out of. Starting positions should be 3 columns or rows from the gate. I will post my character after I finish cooking dinner.[/ooc]

"I will deal with spellcasters," he says brusquely, "You try to blow up or charm or whatever it is you do to the warriors. If you need aid, yell, but make sure you need it before you do."
He then climbs onto his mount, where he proceeds to pull out a clear gem and crush it with his bare hands. A cool wind comes rushing out and forms a small tornado over Willum's shoulder while he swigs a potion.[/ic]

[ooc]Well, seeing as we get just the 30 sec before, I change my actions to drinking potions of Heroism, Barkskin and Sheild of Faith, casting Bear's Anger, and crushing my Air Elemental Gem.
Then I get on my bat an we lift off but stay below the level of the platforms.

What are all of your starting positions BTW? only me and Darkxarth stated them.[/ooc]

[ooc]It is in my post that Tharamir is in the square C10, so Ignacious would be in C11

Also at the end of the 3rd/ beginning of the 4th pre-combat round Willum and Diazzo find themselves in complete silence. Invisibility doesn't get cast, and if bear's anger has a verbal component then if too is uncastable.  

Also at the end of the 4th/ beginning of the 5th pre-combat round PWNT and LC's character find themselves surrounded in complete silence.

I thought that  wasn't allowed.
If it is, then i would have likely taken advantage of it. And seeing as i suddenly become unable to talk, i drink my potion of haste that round instead (if the actions are not getting redone).[/ooc]

[ooc] He didn't cast it on anybody, but on the arena, if he did Willum would have gotten a will save. If he was allowed to attack directly he would have use earthen grasp.

[ooc]I had already PMed Xathan and gotten an ok when I noticed that we were taking more than pre-combat round. He was worried about spells that were being cast in the same round and I told him that it could take effect at the end of the round. He said that was fine.

From SRD: Excerpt from Silence text:  The spell can be cast on a point in space, but the effect is stationary unless cast on a mobile object.

[ooc] Alright, but being able to cast stuff on people pre-battle is a pretty major change. If this had been made allowed, i would have appreciated it if everyon, not just you, got told about it.

What spells and effects could be used?
- Could i charm you?
- Bestow curse you?
- Could i fireball you? if not, could i delayed fireball you (i.e. use my five prep turns to drop 5 DBF's all set to co off on turn one)
- I would assume all of these are not allowed, but i would have assumed anything that can affect the others was unnalowed pre-battle.

What is the Ruling on this Xathan? [/ooc]

(they are all floating around, above and below me. I don't know how many i get yet, but the initiave rolls are used in their given order. i.e. if i get 3, i use 1st 2nd and 3rd.)

[ooc] Fair warning. If you want to change your actions based on the newly aquired rules then, I will be doing the same.

The changes would be:
Before entering: 2 hours before combat initiate fell flight, and seen the unseen.

Init=23 (copied from previous post Initiative= (1d20+3) = (20,3) =  23)

1st Pre-round: cast silence from wand in northern gate area
2nd Pre-round: cast silence from wand in southern gate area
3rd Pre-round: Drink potion of mage armor
4th Pre-Round: Crush elemental Gem (earth) init  [dice]1d20-1[/dice]
5th Pre-Round: Waiting on answer to question below.

With my init, you would be silenced on the first pre-combat round. To walk outside the area you would have to know where I cast it, which would be a couple of move actions, that would stagger your full-round casting. Which raises another question. How far from our starting positions can we move during pre-combat?

You can't give your minions orders while in the silenced area, but I might be mistaken. Just wanted to give you a heads up. I never thought casting silence would have caused so much trouble. It isn't all that powerful of a spell.

Also it would be nice if you posted your pre-entering the arena actions. Your bull's Anger and such.

Can we enter the arena invisible?

[ooc]Okay, also basing my actions on the new rules, here's my stuff.
2 hours: Nothing
10 minutes: During the last thirty seconds of preparation time, I cast Arcane Sight (8 min duration), Expeditious Retreat (8 min duration), Shield (8 min duration), apply Oil of Magic Weapon to my Quarterstaff, and pull out a small token.

[ooc] Drawing a line on the map I don't think we can see each other (K3 and over can see C10). So I'm not all that sure he would know it was me, but knowing what I can see should give you an indication of what spaces I couldn't cast the spell.

The bigger question is are we continuing with this fight? ~ has suggested that we scrap it for now and I would have to agree, since we can't get past the pre-combat events.
