Most of the old school posters around these parts may have been wondering something.
"What the hell happened to ElDo?"
Not necessarily referring to my presence on the site, or even my level of posting, but the content and quality of the posts. I've tried to preserve the same sense of humor, combined with good-natured debate and happy-go-lucky post-iness that defined ElDo before my hiatus in the summer, my inward focus on my setting and writing, and my appointment as mod-- but it hasn't been quite the same.
So allow me to introduce once again ElDo, the captain of slapstick, the commandant of craziness, and soon to be Master of the Dragon's Den once more. Look for me to fire up the Dragon's Den with silliness, and expect my activity on the site to increase both as mod and member. If you ever need anything, you're free to PM me.
But enough about me.
As a way of giving back to this community that has given me so much, I occasionally like to give a little praise to posters that, in my eyes, epitomize what makes this site great. This list isn't meant to exclude anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, just to give credit where credit is due.
Without further ado, the posters I'd like to bestow this Silver Dorito award are (in no particular order):
1) Salacious Angel, for brightening our dreary days and putting a smile on our faces on more than on occasion.
2) Poseidon/Neptune/Bacchus/Whatever God He's Calling Himself, for his diligence in reviewing and his guiding presence throughout the site.
3) Epic Meepo, for his contributions to the CBGuide and his good-natured determination. Without this man, the Guide simply would not exist-- that's the truth.
4) Limetom, for his additions to the site and for his honesty. Amongst a sea of excellence, Limetom has proven a dedicated and erstwhile poster in our community.
5) Raelifin, who, although he occasionally lacks tact, always presents a point of view we may not have thought of. Variety is the spice of life, and Rael is a friendly and funny guy once you get to know him (no, really, he is).
More praise is due to the rest of the staff who make this site happen-- now that I see things from behind the scenes, I'm even more impressed with the sacrifices and dedication that Ishmayl and Brainface put into this site.

Footnote: This award is along the same vein as the [url-http://thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?10731.post]Golden Dorito award[/url]. It is neither a higher or lower grade, and both signify a deep respect for the involved posters. Winners of the Golden Dorito Award were not eligible for the Silver Dorito.
Oh, and here's your trophy, and a sig-worthy icon to accompany it:

Thank you ElDo. :)
oh and it will be great to have the old silliness back. :P
once again i do not win.
i dont feel too bad, though; i may wina lead doritoes award. and if i don't, there's always the wooden doritoes award. although, wooden doritoes tend to give splinters in the mouth....
by the way, is it the award or the dorito that's silver?

The answer to that question lies within the hidden homes of the trophy gnomes, deep within the heart of New Jersey...
Which is reason enough to never go there!

Heh. I'm curious how that will turn out. But at least we'll have funny titles under your posts again. :D
Also, kudos on giving out more awards. All those people obviously deserve it. Hail SA, Poseidon, EM, Limetom and Rael!

Let me start by saying what an honor this is. Just being nominated could have been the capstone of any world builder's career. I consider myself lucky to been chosen when there are so many other deserving individuals out there. But this award isn't all about me; it's about everyone who helped me get where I am today.
First, I would like to thank Pelor for shining so brightly upon my life.
And, of course, I would like to thank the Academy. It's every world builder's dream, from the time they map their first dungeon as a kid, to be recognized by their peers. The Academy makes such dreams come true, making for a stronger and more talented world building community than ever before. Not to mention the fact that membership in the Academy is a prerequisite for no fewer than four prestige classes.
But I would also like to thank the many monsters from the Manual - you know the one that I'm talking about - who have helped me get to where I am today.
I would like to thank Stone Golem; you were the rock that supported me through all these years. I would like to thank Drow and Mind Flayer; while I was standing in the glaring spotlight, you were lurking in the shadowy illumination beyond, doing all of the dirty work.
I would like to thank Beholder and Yuan-ti for making the courageous decision to go Product Identity in this modern day world of Open Game Content. I would like to thank the true dragons for keeping it real, and I would like to thank the giants on whose shoulders I have stood; without you, I was just a mere CR 1/2. Only with your help could I achieve an ECL worthy of notice.
I would like to thank my agent, Balor Demon. They say agents are "always Chaotic Evil," but when it comes to the help you've given me in my world building career, I can say without a doubt that, of all outsiders that I know, you are the closest to Lawful Good.
I would like to thank my fans, my supporters. And I would like to thank anyone else I've passed over, especially the little people - the dwarves, the gnomes, the halflings - and all of those who who toil in obscurity. This award is for all of you.
And before I go... No, don't start playing the music yet. I have something very important to say before I walk off this stage. Let me speak... Before I go, I just want to say that this is a proud night not just for me, but for kobolds everywhere.
Too often in our industry, the kobolds have been overlooked as "comic heroes" and "minor villains." Too often, when casting epic heroes and villains, our industry looks to non-reptilian humanoids. So I would like to thank all who voted for me for choosing to look past my reptilian subtype in order to see my inner experience point total. This award is not just a triumph for me, but for the entire kobold community.
Whether you're an advanced, named kobold such as myself, or merely "Kobold (1)" in room 36 of some randomly generated dungeon, this trophy goes to show that, no matter what your subtype, no matter the scaly-ness of your skin, you can still aspire to the heighest of heights in the world building industry. So, with the Academy's help, I dedicate this award to all of the future kobold winners of this great honor.
Thank you, and Pelor bless.

And the crowd cheers wildly. :band: We love you Meepo! :drunk:
The firebirds just want to you know, we noticed you didn't mention us, and you will be hearing about it later. :axe:
Hey, more awards! Congratulations to this round's winners!
I would like to say thank you for sticking around and making this forum the place it is today. ElDo has given you fancy graphics and long speeches, but now I give you my honest thanks for just showing up.
Roll high, everybody,
