Title: Pokemon Tanzanite: A Game Journal
Post by: LoA on May 25, 2011, 05:42:45 PM
Okay, i'm bored right now, and i've decided to experiment around with FATE, and to play around with this (http://pokemon-tanzanite.webs.com/).

So yes, I'm going to run a pokemon game using FATE. Just to test out how really adaptable it is.

And yes, i'm going to be using DND solitaire

Pokemon Tanzanite Game Journal

Journal Entry: Dear Journal, It's me Lawr (My name is Lawrence Jones, i'm just used to the nickname). Will I have decided to begin my 'Pokemon quest' tomorrow... Really I don't get the big deal with all this... I am a scientific prodigy, and yet in order to get the slightest ounce of respect in this stupid community I have to run around studying mutated wild life with super powers! Will I talked with that Scientist in town. Not that I am a great judge on feminine beauty or anything, but I must say... Green eyes,  brunette, and heartshaped face, make one nice milkshake. Still as much as I admire her for her intelligence and her other 'factors', I must say I can't understand why she wastes her time with Pokemon. I mean I get that she's interdisciplinary, and she deals with chemistry, and physics and stuff, but she also runs a Pokemon clinic for young trainers... I tried getting her to sign a recommend paper to a science academy for my thesis on using that hyper vacuum technology for advancing space travel sciences. She really liked my thesis, but apparently found me offputting. I can't imagine why... So she said she would give me my Academy Recommend on the condition that I run around and get all eight badges from the gyms around Isho. Well I'll do anything for science... so I agreed. I pick out my starter tomorrow.

Tomorrow Morning
(Lawrs House)

Lawr: Yes mom I've packed the essentials, clothes, first aid kit, snacks, books.
Mom: Oh but don't you think...
Lawr: I'm going Mom...
Mom: (uses FATE point) Won't you stay for Breakfast?
Lawr: Huggghhhhh.....

Noon:
(Dr. Sterns Lab)

Sterns: You're late.
Lawr: Sorry, my Mom made chocolate chip pancakes..
Sterns: Sounds delicious, now why are you here?
Lawr:... To get a pokemon?
Sterns: No, you're here to get into a school of science...
Lawr: I thought we talked about this before...
Sterns: Just making sure you hadn't had a change of heart. We wouldn't want your charming personality  to change on bit (sarcastic tone).
Lawr: Har har. Now can I get my mutant and go?
Sterns:....
Lawr: I mean my precious pokemon full of ooey goodness (says with disgust)?
Sterns: You know, I can't believe I was a lot like you when I was your age. Fine, come on over here.

Lawrs: So let's see here... Will the weird little dinosaur thing looks lame, the bear is far too cute and cuddly for my tastes, so i guess i'll go with the amphibious fish thing...

Electeel: Teel!

Lawr: Okay let's get out of here...
Sterns: You're not going to see your mother before you leave?
Lawr: No, because if i do then she'll get all teary, and it'll be another week before i can get out of this stupid place...
Sterns: Have fun... And remember, you may not see the point in this, but it'll serve you in alot of ways. It'll build character, make friendships that'll last forever..
Lawr: Yeah yeah, probably find true love, all that jazz...
Sterns:... Just get out of here...
Lawr: Can do!
End of part 1

It was somewhat interesting but I'm afraid that I don't understand how you were playing.

Well it was completely controlled by the dice. No dm intervention allowed.
And then it fell apart...
So this was an experiment before my rpg fallout.
