On a semi-positive note, one can always lip-synch to old sound clips.

They are not officially muppets, they are just a lesser offshoot of the true muppet.
And they suck.
Cookie Monster my ass!  Godzookie could take out that blue bastard!

Yes, I said Godzookie.  Again.

Maybe I'm just a nihilist or something, but it really wasn't that bad... I mean, everyone does die eventually.

And when the is the last time any of you watched Sesame Street of your own volition?

Others' reactions remind me of this (http://chugworth.com/comic.php?id=311).

Frank Oz, Mr. Rogers, Tupac... my childhood has already died enough that another scratch won't matter.

On an unrelated note, WHY'D YOU HAVE TO GO AND INTRODUCE ME TO ANOTHER COMIC!? I've been reading the archives all day now!

I don't watch the new Sesame Street, but I have an extensive collection of the old shows.

Elmo killed Sesame Street, so I must kill Elmo.

That he did. Elmo is the demon muppet. He must be staked, decapitated, and cremated, but only after being sodomized with a wooden spoon. A wooden grapefruit spoon. Stupid spotlight-hog. You know I was a muppet once!

I thought Frank Oz died... Did he not? 'Cuz that'd be cool.

And yes, SP is pretty sweet. I'm on "Know him? I raped him!" part. Yeah... wierdness.

Reminds me a bit of the old Grover is Bitter. He too was betrayed by Elmo.

http://www.zeroboutique.com/grover/

You should team up to kill him.
Meanwhile in happier news. Frank Oz is quite alive. His next project is the next Star Wars Clone Wars TV Series.

I never watched sesame street, and I don't recognize any of those people. Besides, I never associate characters with their actors. William Shatnir is Captain Kirk, that one guy who plays Neo is Neo, and that other guy is Captain Jack Sparrow. What was his name? I forget. So anyway, they only die in my eyes when the series is cancelled, and even then there's still reruns and DVD sets.

keanu reeves played neo, and johnny "look at me im such a prettyboy middleaged man, i have millions of underage girls fawning over my posters!" depp was jack sparrow.

i know i'll probably get lynched for saying this, but personally, i like keanu reeves.

johnny depp is good, but he's overrated, particularly in the aformentioned underage girl demographic.

and now you know :)

Wow.  Just...wow.

This is, in fact, just wrong.  Just rewrites history like nobody's business.

The Muppet Show was an offshoot of (or rather, a prime time, somewhat more adult reuse of) the muppets.  Kermit, Fozzy, and IIRC, several other of the "Show" muppets started out on Sesame Street.  For that matter, the classic "Mahna Mahna" sketch aired (in possibly more than one version) on Sessame street.

Plus, the 70's, pre-Muppet Show Sesame Street?  Roxxor.  Pure "parody of prime time television" gold, with great songs, comedy (Bert and Ernie), etc.

Now, the more modern SS?  Can't speak of it; haven't seen it.  But trying to write SS out of the Muppet canon?  That's just cold, man.

Where to find and buy old seasons of Sesame Street? Do they even sell those?
Title: Having a good day? Good, read this.
Post by: mneme on November 22, 2006, 02:27:38 AM
I haven't tried looking for them (yet, anyway; I've been having a blast going through the Muppet Season 1 DVD, though), but I'm pretty sure you can get them in any good TV video section.  Hmm.  Google to the rescue: Try: Sesame Street Old School - Vol. 1: 1969-1974 on DVD

$29.09 from cduniverse.

Note that it's definately a "best of" collection -- IMO, they should sell whole old seasons, but I didn't find them on a cursory search. :(
