Title: Recycle Bin 2.0 Discussion
Post by: Kalontas on December 08, 2011, 06:25:08 PM
I think you'd sooner find truly wild people in Amazon rainforest than in Africa. It's a common misconception - Africa is very much accustomed to modern technology pretty much everywhere - at least guns, even if some people may have not seen a white guy more than twice in their life. Comparably, in Amazon there are still new tribes being found.

I think we should also make a rule for this thread that it is solely for dumping ideas. Brainstorming, as it were. Critique of them can go elsewhere, if someone feels the need to do so.

I don't mind them but probably a good idea to keep things from getting cluttered. :)

Or one could have them on a remote island.  New Guinea in particular probably has quite a few uncontacted peoples.  South America too.

The trick is to find an area that might have uncontacted tribals that is near a city large enough to be targeted by a nuke. My thoughts were Africa because there are parts of southern Africa that have a bunch of uncontacted tribes and also has a number of fairly large cities. I think though the ideal area might be Brazil (lots of jungle and remote tribes, but still has some huge cities like Rio).

Nomadic your ww3 'altered point of view' idea reminded me of that other thread about "game ideas you've always wanted to run but never have' or something to that effect. By the way your idea was pretty awesome. Possibly...and this is far-fetched....a time warp was somehow opened causing...say a tribe from 10,000BC to slip into present day...right when ww3 erupts. (the war or whatever being the catalyst for the time shift) on another note: wasn't that in Timesplitters or some shooter?

This is quite possibly the best idea ever.

Someone needs to make this before I do. Or if someone wants, I'll work with you on it. But this must happen.

Depending on the size of the nuke, you wouldn't even need to be that close to the city to see the light on the horizon.

True, though you'd probably still need to be within several hundred miles.
