i am currently working on a battletech rpg using the A time of war rulebook, i have a good starting to the story but am needing some ideas to help continue the story.
The players are all minding there own business(none of them knowing each other), A man staggers into the bar with a gunshot wound to the side.The man falls to the floor dropping a light wrapped up package. When the characters look at the package it will be from a big corparation on the lyran planet of savaris called "strata corp".
I was thinking of making it where this company "strata corp" who deals with weapons manufacturing needs the package back because it contains vital information on what the companys intetions are and the characters have have to keep the package away and later on track down and bring it to the group that the man at the starting had worked for.
I think only one thread is necessary for this. Let's have the other one deleted. As for your story, I'm not sure what you're asking for. I'm not familiar with battletech rpg, but it might be useful to answer some questions about what's going on for yourself first before giving it to the players. Why was the man shot? Who was the man? What is this "lyran planet," (something from the battletech rpg? You'll have to explain it to me) and what is "strata corp"? Why should they bother with the package in the first place? What makes them want to hold onto it and later bring it to the man's employer? Who is this man's employer?
Answering stuff like that not only goes a ways towards developing a great scenario, but also generates even more plot hooks and depth as, in most cases, answering those questions leads to even more.
in battletech theres different planets owned by different factions lyran is one of the factions, i came up with strata corporation is what i came up with for the campaign, its a weapons development company and the package is plans for a new experimental weapon, the man works for an opposing company and was sent to spy on the strata corporation, havent thought of a name for the opposing company yet lol
