Scribblings, really. Inspired by your settings. If you recognise something feel free to take it home with you.
A magnificent bastard (http://www.thecbg.org/index.php/topic,209970.0.html)
At least, I was thinking Bastard's Bastards when I drew it.
The aesthetic is probably more WH40K than weird dieselpunk.
You can still have it if you want it, Superbright!
The others will look right I promise...
Good Lord, you have no idea how happy this makes me. While I agree it's rather light on the diesel and even lighter on the punk (no colours!?) it still has a really neat, "used" sort of quality to it that's both elegant and a little gritty. The shoulder plate looks like it was pried off an eldar before having the unit number stenciled on, the cybernetics look like something out of a Moebius comic, and the androgynous features are just icing on the cake of badass.
Quote from: Superbrightno colours!?
Just a pen and a sketchpad. I'm pathologically averse to polychrome.
I meant the jackets that all Bastards (tallboys being the obvious exception) wear in lieu of formal uniforms.
He's wearing an undersized bombardier jacket. It's ill-fitting and concealed 'neath assorted scavenged oddments, but it's there.
Okay, I see it now; I originally read the upturned collar as being attached to the cape and the garment beneath as some sort of tunic. In my head, the Bastards are made of nothing but Jamie Hewlett art, Frank Frazetta posters, and HBO military series like Band of Brothers and Generation Kill, so seeing them filtered through the lens of someone else's artistic vision is both jarring and exciting.
Not to belabor the point, but I fucking love that beautiful face. The vaguely almond eyes and aquiline nose just work for me.

Momma always said "make the art you'd most want to see". Which begs the question: why do I draw so many blood orgies?
Disclaimer: no blood orgies real or imagined will ever be featured on this thread.

Of course not; this is fanart of the Bastards, not
So Spins the Lonely Moons...
This is really good, SA. I love the sort of soft, unfinished-yet-complete style of it - there's something unsettlingly horrifying about it, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what. Is this done in ink?

I'm sad now.
Quote from: WeaveThis is really good, SA.
Thanks. It was a labour of... well it was certainly a labour. Haven't drawn anything in several years.
QuoteI love the sort of soft, unfinished-yet-complete style of it
Sure, you
could call it that. It's actually just unfinished. I drew his legs but they sucked hard.
Quotethere's something unsettlingly horrifying about it, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what.
Perhaps you are allergic to transhumanism?
QuoteIs this done in ink?
Yes. Most things I draw on impulse are drawn in ink. Now I'm going to start drawing with intent, which happens in pencil.

not.

I'm allergic to many things. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of them. I guess it'll have to be a love-hate.

Huh! I seem to work backwards. My sketches are in pencil and my more "finished" productions are in ink. Your way makes more sense.
Also, the other drawings make me wish I could somehow enter your head and understand how you come up with such brilliant and bizarre creations. Well done!

The same way I come up with my settings: let my mind wander until I end up in the
Bad Part™ of my subconscious, then beat feet with whatever I can carry before my Id can catch me.
Mmmmm monsters!
Me likes! I may raid your drawings for some ideas, if you don't mind
Quote from: SteerpikeMmmmm monsters!
Sometimes they are crunchy and delicious but sometimes they pop and gush with disquieting salty thickness.

I'd mind if you didn't!
Sweet! I have need for weird and creepy things. Also, love the WH-esque quality of the bastard. I love that style of drawing.
I like what you've done here. That second drawing with the weird monster things was well weird and had monster things, and that's the sort of art I generally think is nifty.
Any chance you could take a look at Terra (http://www.thecbg.org/index.php/topic,24955.0.html) and see if anything is drawable? Maybe somebody from the Rogue's Gallery thread (http://www.thecbg.org/index.php/topic,209948.0.htm)?

[ooc]Anyone else, other than Superbright, want a thing?[/ooc]
Holy crap that's awesome! Both of them!
I really like your whatever-it-is. For some reason I can't help but think there's a person wearing it like some kind of demon armour. (or maybe it's the other way around)
You could always draw something from Our Terrible Purpose! I would be interested in seeing that.
Edit: I also of course always enjoy seeing things from the Cadaverous Earth realized.
Damn, you're a talented artist.
It seems to me like you like drawing demons and dark creatures. If you are interested, below, in my signature, is a link to one of my custom worlds called Plaguelands. There is such a thing as the Seven Horrors (a nod to the Seven Wonders) and a few great demons, of which a description is made available under the ''The Cinqus Demones'' part of the long thread. At least, I hope it can inspire you.
If you ever wanted to draw something more tribal-ish (very ancient civilization), I also have a custom world called Primeval, which is also in my signature below. That could always provide you with some inspiration, especially since I have a text coming out soon that's about a jungle tribe that will be colourful enough to inspire images.
Anyways, I look forward to seeing more of your work, and if you got any questions about mine don't hesitate.
EDIT: And I completely agree with TMG, something from the Cadaverous Earth would always be very nice.
I vote for CE as well! Also, I'd love to see a fomorian from Cad Goleor.
TheMeanestGuest and Pymtein Magnushake will both get a thing.
Oh and Cadaverous Earth is coming don't you worry.
EDIT: Oh no Raven! I missed your fomorian. Not trying to diss you or nothing. You get a thing as well.
Thank you. That was a cool drawing of Knobby.
And if you want, feel to take a Terra badge:

see one!

I was halfway done before I got the reference. If I was a little sharper from the outset I would have made him goofier, like his namesake.

That's OK, he's fairly handsome for a gnome, Comeliness 14/13, so that's a point of divergence from
Discworld Knobby there.
I put it over on Knobby's entry in the Rogue's Gallery thread (http://www.thecbg.org/index.php/topic,209948.msg224799.html#msg224799), if that's OK.
Like it says in the first post, they're yours to do with as you like.
Just remember to add my name (which you have in this instance so yay).
Wow. Just wow.
These are pretty impressive, don't suppose I could add myself to the list for a drawing.
You for sure definilly can.
Quote from: SA
You for sure definilly can.
Awesome, in that case I was thinking you could draw the following:
A clockwork whale golem. Its exterior is a mixture of riveted brass plates which show occasional glimpses through openings to a morass of gears, pipes, pistons, and various other mechanical intricacies. Instead of a tail it trails a bundle of tentacular cables, ending in myriad grippers, tools, and instruments.
Man Oh Man. That's going to be tough.
But it's going to happen.
If it's something you'd do, I'd add you to a very short list of people to talk to before advertising when I'm looking to hire someone to do artwork for my publishing endeavors. I run a sci-fi / horror literary zine and may publish some novels or anthologies in those genres.
All for it.
I should probs get on with my backlog...
No one's going to complain about how long it takes to get free, highly appreciated art.
FOMORIAN
as far as I got before my damn tablet broke.
The next one will be in pencil.
(in fact, I may take a crack at the goat-headed fomorian)

A thousand times this. A friend of mine volunteered to do the cover art for the first annual anthology of my zine, free of charge. I didn't get the piece for probably four months but now everyone loves it. If what you're doing is worthwhile and you're not dealing with some kind of professional business contract, time shouldn't really matter. And, from what I've seen, what you're doing is well worth the wait.
