Expect to see more of me going forward. The WotC forums are closing for good. Who here was still active?
I was not active on the WotC forums, but I did occasionally lurk about. I do remember being active way back around the time when I found Luminous Crayon's "Jade Stage" setting, when the forums looked completely different with "What's a DM/Player to do?", which eventually brought me here (I also remember Vilydunn and Aath, the respective nightmare and dream mirror settings, which I believe someone on here also wrote, but I forgot who).
I'm sad to see them go. When I played 3.0 and 3.5 the forums were my bread-and-butter. Those forums definitely defined my gaming experience at the time.
I haven't been active on the WotC forums since I joined the CBG nine years ago. Then again, I had only briefly been a member - I joined, made a few posts, saw a posted ad for the CBG's new site, came here, and left the WotC forums behind. Really, the best thing I got from them was an introduction to this site.
I hope we get some new members/interest as a result of the forums closing. The CBG seems to be in a bit of a lull and I would love some new members posting things.
Are those people aware that our community exists? New members are rarely a bad thing.

Vilydunn and Aath were by Horse.
Good to see you around by the way, Xev.
Thanks. I'm trying to make time. My crunch doesn't seem to get much traction here anymore now that everyone's drifted on to other systems.
I never really joined the WotC forums, but I read it a lot when I was just getting into dnd. I used to peruse the forums. And I remember reading some of the CBG stuff on the forums. I'm not gonna lie, I'm gonna miss it.
Well, wow, that's a weird feeling.
I forgot the name of the forum, but at the end of 3x, WotC got rid of their forum, then too - so this just seems like standard practice for WotC. I know that ENWorld forum is getting a large number of the WotC board members, since the closing.

Yes, that's it.
That was a funny attempt.
When they tried to make it a social media sites for games? What a joke that was.
It might have worked if they tried a little harder. Facebook, tumblr, instagram, and the rest all survive together.
