Anybody else a big fan of the PS2 series? If so, what's your favorite? What don't you like about some of them? Got any interesting points or rumors about the continuation of the series to share? :)
I've never played the games, and I've only read the strategy tidbits and teasers printed in Nintendo Power magazine, but I liked what I saw. One day soon, I expect to buy a Gamecube, and Prince of Persia (both 1 and 2) will definitely be on my list of games to play.

Prince of Persia came long before PS2.
Yeah, but I think he's talking about the most recent trilogy on PS2 and XBOX. It actually had a story, too. And not a bad one.
I really enjoyed the games. In some ways, the first was the best. In others, the third (I thought the 3rd was definitely the hardest).
I read something in EGM that said the PoP team decided to continue with the same prince despite their original intention to switch to a different one.
I know it came out long before, but I've never played the older versions and don't think I will soon.
I liked Sands of Time until I played Warrior Within, and then I just couldn't go back to the first. I agree that PoP3 was probably the hardest, though there were some things about WW that drove me nuts. Warrior Within is my favorite just because of the much darker feel.

from what i understand, the story in the new ones was supposed to be a continuation of the story in the old ones.
i wouldn't know, though, becuse i haven't played the new ones, and near as i could tell, the story in the original was "a topless man is trapped between a wall and a lethally deep dropoff in the floor. he must try to survive the drop. the end."
I didn't play the old ones, but it sure seemed that Sands of Time stared a brand new hero eager to impress his father, and turned into a time traveling trilogy about fate and free will, as well as responsibility for one's action. With a little romance and tragedy thrown in for good measure.
