Any of you guys going to be playing the new NWN? I've been checking it out; it looks pretty good, so I think I may buy it.
I have NWN1. The campaigns were crap but, until I got banned from their forums, the server I was on was good.
I persistently failed to have any fun playing nwn. I think i've finally learned my lesson.
Golem--and what did you do, praytell? ;)
Well... *cough* apparently my 'general attitude' was bad :P also, this new guy was being a complete jerk and refusing to play within the storyline after about four people told him nicely repetitively 'no dragons, no demons, no devils' etc...
I lost it. :P
I really enjoyed the first one. However, #2 looks like more of the same. I'll be waiting and watching to see if it's any good.
Like I said, I'm thinking of giving it a try, but I had a lot of issues with the first one. I think though, if there were enough people I knew playing it, that would tip the scales more in the direction of me buying it.
Golem, was it actually a guy, or was it a girl... or do you know? If it's a girl, run like hell. I know who that is.

Coulda been either. Why?
I bought NWN2 and played it all the way through. While there were a few improvements, I actually liked NWN1 better overall. Some changes to the interface and some errors (which are continually being patched, though) detracted from the experience a bit. I also didn't actually think as much of the original campaign, but some people liked it better.
If that person was a she, she's the most wretched player I've ever seen.
She'll eat your soul.
Just so we're straight, I'm talking about playing online in a world; I honestly don't give a damn about the single-player adventure, which I have no doubt is absolutely no different from any of the other single-player POS that have come out over the years.
Yeah, playing online rocks.
The new NWN has no radial menu... which sucks...
Oh, that's odd, I was under the impression on the FAQ I read that they had some sort of "new and improved" radial menu...
And just so we're clear on this issue, every game should have the same kind of radial menu that the Sword of Mana series offers. Period.
I didn't buy or play NWN1, so I'm probably not gonna get NWN2. I'm quickly losing interest in most RPGs I haven't already played in favor of stuff more like Prince of Persia and Area 51.
I'll get it if I can persuade my parents to give me enough money to upgrade my PC to the standards required... I can afford the game, just my video memory sucks...
The "new and improved radial menu" is where you now have to right click on the character portrait and get a dropdown menu, which cannot be quick-barred. I was perturbed by that.
I've played online some, but the OC in a game actually does matter to me.
