Title: '08 Fantasy Dream Ticket
Post by: CYMRO on December 10, 2006, 01:41:21 AM
Who would the CBG put in the White House?
Constitutional restrictions apply: Born in the U.S., and over 35.

I would like to see Hal Jordan(Green Lantern) as President, with
Woody Allen as his Vice-President.

That is abalanced ticket, my friends.

I would like to see Zack de la Rocha (Revolutionary (?) Marxist; singer for Rage Against the Machine) as President, with Noam Chomsky (Libertarian Socialist;linguist and political activist) as Vice-President.  Perhaps the other way around, because de la Rocha is only 36.

Imagine it, a complete shake-up to the USian bipartisan system, socialized health care, actual Welfare, healthy economic oversight, actual humanitarian work instead of illegal wars, and friend-winning foriegn policies.

Socialist specturm for the win.

But both Woody and Hal come with emotional baggage...

Gandalf for President...   Vice President... Rand al'Thor, maybe?  But with his recent ego issues, he may have problems working beneath Gandalf.

True, true.

Hmm... I would vote...

I'd second Gandalf for president, but what of Elminster?

Gandalf wasn't born in the US... :P

I think that I'd want Lois Lane for president, with Hawkgirl a close second. It's about time we erradicated the gender bias in office... And both characters are fairly strong and intelligent. For VP... Hmmm. I don't really know. Perhaps Noam Chomsky.

All constitutionally disqualified.

Lois Lane?
Too co-dependent on an alien who would kill her on a whim. (http://www.superdickery.com/dick/17.html)

Wallace Stevens (http://www.poets.org/poet.php/prmPID/124)

This guy is awesome.  Just read some of his poetry (http://www.writing.upenn.edu/~afilreis/88/stevens-poems.html).

President: Henry McCoy (Beast). An accomplished statesman and educator, Dr. McCoy has already served as Secretary of Mutant Affairs and been offered a position as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. He has also worked as a political activist, and will likely appeal to voters on the Left.
Vice-President: Tony Stark (Iron Man). In his tenure as Secretary of Defense, industrialist Tony Stark defeated more supervillians than all previous Secretaries of Defense combined. He is also a prominent corporate figure, which will no doubt appeal to voters on the Right.

Press Secretary: Lois Lane.
Secretary of Defense: Former CIA-operative Al Simmons (Spawn).
Secretary of Eductation: Charles Xavier (Professor X).
Secretary of Homeland Security: Bruce Wayne (Batman; duh).
Secretary of the Navy: Arthur Curry (Aquaman).
Secretary of State: Steve Rogers (Captain America).

I would like to see Zach de la Rocha as the vice president: it would be good to have him in the senate for this tie-breaking votes.

Y'know, Meepo makes some good points. Seconded.

Beast in 2008!

As for that Gandalf and Elminster thing, Not elminster. It should be Vanderghast (or whatever his name is. Vangy... you know who i mean). He works well as a power behing the throne guy. And Sam Gamgee should have some post in there (he did a damn fine job running the shire).

Iron Man in office? I'd rather die.

He Is No One's Hero.

[quoteJaerc]Iron Man in office? I'd rather die.[/quote]
You might be right. My last real knowledge of Iron Man stops with the old, flawed Tony Stark and teenage Tony Stark merging into a responsible new Tony Stark who claims he wants to work with the government to curtail the mass production of powered armor. But I hear he goes back to fearmongering and manipulating the military-industrial complex at some time after that, so maybe he wouldn't be good a candidate.

But Beast would need someone to balance the ticket. He's too collegiate, dovish, and non-corporate to sell to the Right. Perhaps move Captain America up into the vice-presidential position; neocons couldn't vote against a guy named Captain America who walks around wearing an American flag, could they?

Probably not, but then who's going to bring in all the corporate campaign donations?
