I'm not sure if this is the right place. Please move the thread is some other forum is more suitable.
I stumbled upon Dawn of Worlds (http://www.dndonlinegames.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5634) in a thread on RPG.net (http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=302102). Basically, it is a game where players create a game world together. The basic rules are simple.
It is not terribly exciting, but it is free, so maybe someone will get some ideas out of it.
Interesting. Could make for some really wild worlds.
I also find that a really cool idea. It seems much easier to avoid the writer's block that tends to happen to singal world builders by instead working as a group. If you run out of ideas, wait for another worldbuilder to take action. Chances are that their actions will either inspire or require you to take action yourself. Sweet.
It occurs to me that it could be fun to combine this game with Nomic (http://www.nomic.net). That way, as one of the gods creating the world, you could also be changing the rules of the game.
Of course, someone would have to convert the original set of rules into a set of starting rules for Nomic.
Sa-weat. I actualy did this kinda thing on a whim without ever hearing about it. That game was a failure though... people kept creating genocidal races that hunted each other without regards for hygien.
Maybe I should start a game using those rules...
Could be fun...
Thanks, Thanuir, it's on my hard drive now. :)
