Clouds boil in the grey dusk of the Caramanian foothills. Snow drifts languidly, a precursor to the churning wall of ice and snow consuming the squat mountains of the Caraman range. In the distance looms the jagged entrance to the southern pass. As darkness crawls across the foothills, lights shimmer on a distant mountain face. It is rumoured that an ancient monastary lies cradled in the confines of the mountain pass, offering a nights lodging on the dangerous trail. [/blockquote]
