This is an idea that I saw in an old (1e era) issue of Dragon. They are spells for everyone, even non-casters. Things, like Mind Blank 1/2- not so much a spell as a state of mind inhabited by many fighters. The verbal component is duh. Dig 1/2- material components are a strong back, a shovel, and someone experiencing Mind Blank 1/2.
So, I was thinking about this while I was falling asleep last night and suddenly got an idea for a new one:
Detect Own Arse
Divination
Level: Anybody 1/2
Comp: S,M
Casting time: Inversely proportional to Intelligence
Range: Very Personal
Target: Own Arse
Duration: ?
The caster locates his own arse. The components are: both hands, a Continual Flame torch, and a map. Fortunately the components are not consumed in the casting.

Resistance is futile...
Material Componants that are not consumed by casting a spell are called foci.
Find the Ground
Divination
Level: Anybody 1/2
Comp: F
Casting Time: Inversely proportional to Intelligence
Range: Unlimited
Taget: Self
Duration: Permanant, but the start of freefall dispells it.
The caster's visual organs or other forms of detection search and find the largest mass that the caster is moving towards.
Focus: The caster's own free-falling body. This spell doesn't function in an area of subjective gravity, nor does it work in a null-gravity feild, since the caster's body can't free-fall.

1) Well, we didn't have foci in 2e, so forgive me for not knowing the newfangled terminology.
2) Good one.
Read Non-magic
Level: Literate 1/2
Components: None
Casting Time: Swift Action
Range: 5 feet (longer for larger text)
Target: Any non-magical text.
Duration: Concentration
By means of read non-magic, you can decipher inscriptions on objectsâ,¬'books, scrolls, weapons, and the likeâ,¬'that would otherwise be unread. You can read at the rate of one page (250 words) per minute. This spell fails if you possess no functioning visual organ, if you are illiterate, or if the text is too far away. If the text is upside down, you must make an Intelligence check (DC 15) or the spell fails. This spell does not allow you to read text in languages you do not understand.
Focus: Any light source.
