Ah... you might be wondering where the second post is.  Seems I can't post it from my PC at the moment (this post was written on another computer).  I might have to post the first part from another comp.

It sounds like one of those disclaimers at the beginning of really old novels, you know, back when they were still paid by the word.

That's precisely the angle I'm going for.  When dubious pseudohistories were all the rage, and "fiction" was oft-written with unwarranted connotations of possible truth.

EDIT: Of course, that's not to say that this isn't still the case, only that... ah, forget it.

I think I know what the problem is with the posting.  Should be right soon.
