The Icosahedron
Home of
Natural 20/Rose Of Montague

Hello fellow Guild members.  I'm making this thread to let everyone know that I, Natural 20, am officially changing my username to "Rose Of Montague".  Since I have no wish to become a name chameleon, I decided to do this in a nice and conspicuous way.

Also, this thread will be my home on the CBG, where I will post personal updates to my gaming, literary, and artistic portfolio.  In the place that has been my home on the internet for so long, I'm going to set up camp and claim just one little thread as my own.

So welcome everyone, to the gallery of Natural 20, The Rose Of Montague, and me!
I do not intend to cause any trouble with this thread, and if they so choose, I really won't be offended if this thread is taken down.  It's in the Dragon's Den so that it causes as little trouble as possible.
I updated the "Literature" post to include links to all my writing on the CBG.

Some things that I forgot to put in the first post...

I wanted to thank everybody here for making the CBG an awesome place to hang out.  It's been my homepage almost as long as I've known it existed, and my favorite site for just as long.  Through this portal into a world of intellectuals, I have grown a lot over the past year.  Looking back, I can no longer say I'm the same kid who signed on at the Shadowfell Boards, and for that I am thankful.

The CBG has helped me grow as a person, and I fully intend to repay my debt to this community.  Therefore, I am going to provide links to all my work, so long as I continue to make creative pieces.  Also, I'm going to be swinging my effort back into this site since summer vacation is just around the corner.  I love this place, and I love the people who make it great.  Thank you everyone, for being just that awesome.

Peace,

~ Crit/Rose/T

Honestly, I feel comfortable speeking for all of "the rest of us" when I say this place just wouldn't be the same without you. I think your very presence is payment enough :)

I hate the name change, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.

If anyone deserves a place to call his own around this place it would be you, probably our most active and beloved poster.

As far as I can tell, you have grown a lot during your time here. I remember us exchanging PMs on the old Shadowfell boards to arrange a posting spree in some forumgame-thread to increase our ranks (which led you to comment on my account here "Would that we could be Demi-Gods again" which looks quite amusing now :)) and I remember you scoffing at the Philosophy thread for excluding you because you weren't interested in the topic at hand, and look where we are today: you are one of the most respected intellectuals of these boards yourself.

On these boards in general, and especially given what I've just written, "Don't ever change!" would be a very bad slogan to end this post with. Much rather, I'd wrap up this little trip down memory lane with:

Don't ever leave!

Update: I added "The Mistress' Quest" to my literary works post.  It's my entry for the contest at Plotstorming.com Contest, and I'd appreciate everyone's votes.

Are you the reason PlotStorming.com has had a surge in members very recently?   ;)

If I am, that can only bode well for my entry.

And the Creative Alliance, of course.

Quote from: Rose of MontagueEDIT: Also, I have recently been dabbling in world-building and other literary exploits. However, this is a conversation for a different thread. Try this one.

So, are you going to tell us what you've been up to?

Right now, I'm really excited about Lorwyn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorwyn).  The flavor of the cards are so appealing to me that I feel I might adapt the world to d20 or run a game in the Triad System (http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?20415).

In other news, I've acquired some texts on cults and religion, and look forward to writing a column for the CBGuide on these topics.

If you do run something in Triad System, I'd love to hear about how it goes. To my knowledge, it hasn't been playtested yet.

Update on my life:  My Senior Year of High School is leaving me with little free time, and most of that is spent on Magic: The Gathering.

A few underclassmen have looked me up based on rumors of my D&D habit, and it is likely that I will be running a campaign for them in the Triad System.  If this happens, I'll be sure to start a campaign thread to chronicle the adventures of this group.

I have discovered and am following a blog called "The Shape of Days", which provides insight on life and other things in an often humorous but sometime somber manner.  It's author is also the author of some delightful short fiction, which I personally recommend.

That's all for now, but I'll make an effort to maintain this thread more dilligently in the future.

Hey folks, I'll be trying to make an effort to return here soon.  I've been commenting on some general polls lately, and if anyone needs advice on a religion, just shoot me a PM.  I've been away a long time, but I think I have come full circle and am ready to dive back into world-building.

You can look forward to some new short fiction and some musings on the adaptation of ideas from me soon.

Anyway, here are some pictures (http://picasaweb.google.com/Rose.Of.Montague/InspirationCBG?authkey=rf-_MyW6CSM) that have been inspiring me lately, and might set the tone for some of my work.  Peace, and I hope to see you all again soon.
