Title: Live Earth
Post by: So-Keher on July 07, 2007, 09:29:09 PM
So I'm sitting here on my couch watching the Live Earth Concerts (fortunately in HD) and wondering: What exactly is it doing to help? I understand (and completely agree) with the fact that it is attempting to raise global awareness for the cause, but is it raising money to fund research or something? It's great but does it go the whole mile?

Also, if anyone knows when Dave Matthews is playing...

Black eyed peas can be overrated. But the performances by DMB, Madonna (i hate that i'm admitting it but she was good), the Police, the RHCP and Linkin Park were really good.

It's funny, I saw a statistic that the concert series actually hurt the environment as the equivalent of a year of driving a large number of SUVs (I don't remember where, sorry)

Funny you should ask, because I have the answer: It's a rain dance (http://jameshowardkunstler.typepad.com/clusterfuck_nation/2007/07/rain-dance.html), except less effective.
