Title: The Poetry of Celtricia--a taste.
Post by: LordVreeg on July 24, 2007, 04:05:36 PM
In Amerer's name, let us take the day in shade

And tell bloody tales of the ruler's ends:

How some have been depos'd, destroy'd in war,

Haunted by those they did to first,

Some poison'd by their wives, or the words of lovers;

Yet dead all the same: There is no crown so blessed

Nor palace of the strong so fair, so mild

As to keep Orcus from his court.

Kopobianco, Skald of the Silver'd Note, Father of Amerer's Choice

In the reign of Paly the Maligned.

This is inscribed outside the gates to the Corpusmount in Stenron, under the statue of Orcus, in a pose that designates him in his role as Shepherd of the Dead.

Nicely done. I commented in the other thread but I like this verse, I may steal it. ;)

When the stars go dark
And the sun itself cools in the sky,
When the Teriglen  rears and roars
And fills the air with deepest trumpet wail.
When the Necropid  reaches out
And the dead awake and rise.
The Asselwood will wither,
And the Heartwood tree itself will fail.

Then shall the cold hard hand
Of the Dreadwing return to earth.
And his fathering eyes will find
The children who waited on the call.
And those who laid down low,
the Prime servant and those who serve,
Shall be the ones who suffer
the long and blinding fall.
