I like your opening. You say that magic is almost freely available. how do you plan on reconciling this to standard D&D? Are you even using that system?
Looking at your races, I see your an elf lover. x. Is there a reason you've got six of them rather than five new races or a few racial variants of other races?
For your ascendant elves, I suggest using the standard format. It takes a little longer, but make it oh so much easier to read.
Your map looks good, but you can tell that it was done completely on computer. If you want something that looks a bit more natural, try hand-drawing a map and then getting it scanned (office depot will do it for you), or use one of the many fractal mapmakers out there as the base.
You don't have anything else, so I await additions. By the way, I suggest getting the link in your signature badge fixed, it currently links to your old, dead thread.
Quote from: VoranIllezouBy "magic being freely available" i mean that magic users are very common, and magic is a part of people's lifestyle. Magic users in my setting will be a little bit different also. I will be using the Haphazzard system we're developing, and magic weilders will have to channel their energy through a device (Usually a staff or a wand). They can attempt to cast spells without that channeling method, but a large penalty is imposed on them. The channeling devices never impose a penalty, no matter how they are made, but the higher quality ones will improve the spellcaster's ability.
You might want to look at my Dilandri, as I use something similar to the concept you propose. Mine are crystals, but I'm certain they can be easily adapted.

By sand elves and sky elves are called "elves" but are not closely related to the star, ascendant, and high elves. Their species split off from the elven ancients long, long ago.
I meant that I'm, personally, throughly tired of seeing campaigns and settings with a bajillion subraces of elf, a different one for each color of hair...
I' exaggerating, but I hope you get the idea. They may not be similar to elves, but even calling them that immediately turns me off. If they are so different, does it hurt to give them a different name? It is, of course, entirely up to you.
I myself love elves, but Stargate has a point: That is a lot of elfinness. In any case, I look forward to the development of the world into a living breathing and believable place.
