We're counting this as a mini-contest. This thead is for both the discussion of, and the display of flyers that we can use in upcoming conventions to advertise the Campaign Builders' Guild.
I'm putting this in the Contest forums, because if we get a few people all working on this, then we'll pick one "final" flyer, and that person will win a prize of his choosing from the cafepress.com Swag.
Cheers!

Obviously it's got to have a cabbage on it, but probably not the Fiend of the Ninth Cabbage.
[ic]Are you working on cool campaign world or adventure and need some help?
Do you enjoy constructive discussion with others?
Do you like cabbage?
Check out The Campaign Builders' Guild![/ic]
Not a full design, just a couple of thoughts.
Good way to start, let's just get a discussion going first, and then hopefully we can throw out a few designs by Christmas time and I can get one chosen and printed up by the first convention, which I believe Nathan said was Jan 14
Well I was thinking, we've got some pretty cool badges on the site. I don't know if these flyers will be color or not, but making a mosaic of them to form the CBG logo would be kinda neat.

Photomosaics are always pretty hot. :yumm:
My first idea involved lots of hands! Hands are reaching in from all the borders of the flyer, as if the flyer were sitting on a table and a bunch of people were gathered around, all drawing on it. They have pencils and protractors and various other bits of drafting equipment, but they're using it to draw mountains and rivers and continents and such, creating a world as a group effort. The whole bit could have a sketchy sort of feel to it, like da Vinci's blueprints, with lightly-drawn squares and circles as guides.
If you build it they will review...
The CBG Homebrews welcome.

Yes, I would like them in hand by Jan 14.
I would suggest something catching and eye appealing. How about having a continent or a world map as the background image for the handout? Nothing highly detailed, you're not the Cartographers, but continents and worlds are the meat of the CBG.
I may have just the thing... I commissioned a piece from So Keher a loooong time ago for some specific site function, and now it's not being used for that, but we could use it for this - I'll see if I can dig it up.
Words made out of dice perhaps? Or you could have an alternating cabbage-[insert something related to D&D here]. Another thought: you could have a background with a collage-thingy of the previous CBGuide covers.
What about a field of stars and in the center a dotted outline of a world. In the middle of the outlined world would say "Your world here". Above it "If you build it, they will review", and below it the logo with "theCBG.org"
(CBG "world" logo)
"www(dot)theCBG(dot)org"
(Image of a Kobold painting continents on a cabbage)
"where worldbuilding and cabbage come together"
I think Poesidn's is the best, so far.
I'm digging the multiple hands, putting together a world or continent, almost like a puzzle

Now I'm playing "Name That Badge" with that flyer. :yumm:
It's difficult. :(
It doesn't help that they are blurry and cropped, either.
I love the design, and if I may, I'll make a variation...
The problem is, if you keep the "weave" pattern as background, you somehow have to cut the badges to make them fit. Otherwise you'd have a lot of white in the back with tiny colored blobs (=the badges) on it, which looks sort of unimpressive.
Finally, of course you may work from my first impression. :) If you want, I can post the .pdn file which has the layers still seperated.
Layers would be good for my idea.
Basically, move the text block to the side, make the entire thing covered with the badges, with the exception of one blank weave space, then have the heading be 'You'll fit right in' or something similar.
Ok, here's (http://www.megaupload.com/de/?d=LBIVOP6J) the pdn file. You'll need Paint.NET (http://getpaint.net) to open it.
Any more thoughts on this? We still have time, but I want to keep everyone's mind fresh on the subject.
Just another poke to see if the community is interested in helping Ish out with this project.
