Title: Conlangs (I swear it isn't a prison movie)
Post by: Stargate525 on December 15, 2007, 04:21:54 AM
If you guys don't know (unlikely, considering the crowd), Conlang is short of Constructed Languages, like the ones you can find in The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

I'm planning on getting into this, to build a language for my novel. I was wondering if anyone else has done this, and would like to share.

I've started several, but never really gotten anywhere with them, like this one (http://www.thecbg.org/wiki/index.php?title=Conlang:Main_Page).

Same here. If you look around on the meta boards you should find Xahin, which I started. It's an exceedingly odd language.

If you look around for New English, it's a thought experiment in the form of a ConLang.

I've never done one myself, but depending on how New English takes off as a community thing, I might eventually feel comfortable with my grasp of grammatical terms to try my own.
