Well, as I said, I'm getting my setting up and running for 4E. I wanted to start with my races since we've seen enough of the 4E races to have an idea of how to balance them.
So here's what I have so far. After working on a few of them, I've decided that I probably won't use Dragonborn as written, since there's currently a lot of overlap between my Ifrit and Dragonborn.
IFRIT

TRITON
Ability Scores: +2 Con, +2 Int
Size: Medium
Speed: 6 squares
Vision: Low-light Vision
Languages: Common, ?
Skill Bonuses: +2 Bluff, +2 Insight
Racial Power: ?
Natural Swimmer: Swim Speed, can breathe water.
Regeneration: Your healing surge value is equal to one-quarter of your maximum hit points + your Constitution modifier.
VALKYRIE
Ability Scores: +2 Dex, +2 Wis
Size: Medium
Speed: 6 squares
Vision: Normal
Languages: Common, ?
Skill Bonuses: +2 Perception, +2 Endurance
Racial Power: Wing Thrust, Move, Encounter: Fly your speed +2. If a charge attack is made after in this round, you may continue to fly at +2 speed for the charge.
Winged Fall: Suffers no falling damage, can travel horizontally 20 ft. for every 10 ft. fallen.

I might add something to Ifrit and Valkyries since they have normal vision, perhaps weapon proficiencies since they're martial races. Tritons feel empty, since their swimming ability won't come up all the time.
tritons were healers, if I remember correctly. A bonus to curing abilities on others?
Oh they were? Interesting, that works out well since Healing magic is from the Water element in my alchemy. But I don't want to marry them to being Leaders, but an encounter (touch an ally, they can spend a healing surge and gain +2 on their next saving throw) would be a nice power.
To balance it against Clerics, it will actually cost a whole Standard Action, but that saving throw bonus should push it over the top.
