Another bright day has dawned over the port-side marketplace of the town of Elricsburg. The people are cheerful and industrious, and the sounds of merchants hawking their wares are intermingled while the speech of the shoppers and the many travelers from far off lands. However, hanging over all of this good-natured interaction is a definite feeling of forced cheer. Though times have been good for the empire, any suspected of trying to disrupt this balance or bring news of the true dire situation frequently disappear. Rabble-rousers are dealt with perhaps overly severely by the ever-present specter of the local watch, the Redcloaks. The fear of them is tempered by their vigilance against threats. The true fear of the people is rarely spoken of, at least in public. The Night Cloaks â,¬' the shadowy group, answering only to the highest levels of the ruling class, is rarely even admitted to exist and most of the working class doesnâ,¬,,¢t like to speak of them for fear of who may be listening. The always-increasing levels of new technology being churned out only compound all this bad feeling. A bitter debate is raging about these advances considered by many to be blasphemous, but daily more and better tools are being created to help fuel the empireâ,¬,,¢s armies â,¬' including the newly developed Warforged battalions. Much of this is ignored by the lower classes in an effort to get through their daily lives, but the conflicts are erupting into violence more and more frequently, and itâ,¬,,¢s only a matter of time before it all come to a head.
It is under this cloud of unease that our campaign opens on the bustle of the marketplace. There are many stalls selling almost anything, as well as several inns for the merchants and voyagers. The crowd is predominantly human, but there are representative of many foreign races as well as several knots of gnomes traveling around. There is a noticeable lack of elves and dwarves, but with the recent troubles, this is unsurprising.

Sandswim (Su): As water is to Merfolk, so is sand to the Asherati. An Asherati can 'swim' through sand, ash, dust, or similar substances (not rock or packed dirt) at their base speed while wearing up to light armor and carrying a light load. An Asherati's speed drops to 5ft is wearing heaver armor or carrying a medium load. An Asherati cannot sandswim with a heavy load. Asherati can breath normally under the sand.
Body Lamp (Su): An Asherati can make his skin glow at will, providing bright illumination out to 60ft, and shadowy illumination out to 120ft. This also allows them to make out solid objects up to 60ft away while sandswiming. Background

Isu-dras emerged from the desert south of Eltabar with words of exile still ringing in his ears. He had been shunned from his world, sentenced to live the rest of his life in solitude and loneliness. But Zoser protected Isu-dras from the wrath of the desert, saving the asherati from a slow, terrible death. He guided Isu-dras out of the waste, bestowing his loyal follower with another chance to live. Knowing he could never go home, Isu-dras traveled north in search for a new life.
What he found, however, were hardships not unlike those which he experienced in his homeland. Greed, suffering, and corruption were found in abundance throughout his treks, and such knowledge troubled him. To rectify this, as he traveled across the land he insisted on helping only those who deserved aid, while remorselessly casting aside those who did not.
However, at some point during Isu-Drasâ,¬,,¢ travels word of the cause of his exile leaked out, placing a heavy price on his head in addition to the many enemies he had already made throughout his journeys. Leaving what few friends he had made behind for their own safety, he now travels across the land, offering aid to those who are truly in need before departing to the next town, remaining one step ahead of his regrettably infamous name.[/spoiler]
Appearance

Isu-dras, despite being of average height and weight for an asherati, stands out in a crowd. Wrapped in four long black swathes of silk, the majority of Isu-drasâ,¬,,¢ red rust-colored skin remains hidden underneath his bindings, thought his hands and feet stay bare to better aid him in sandswimming. His swathes also part to reveal the bridge of his nose and his white eyes, but these features are usually accompanied by his black sun lenses, whose round frames he seldom removes from his face unless in a casual situation. Around his neck he wears a simple black necklace, from which hangs his holy symbol. The curved crisscrossing lines of this symbol appear to resemble a stylized tornado, and its polished silver surface tends to draw the eyes of the greedy before they notice any of his other features.
Isu-drasâ,¬,,¢ face, while seldom seen, is actually surprisingly handsome. His smooth yet sharp features give him a curiously graceful appearance, and though most Asheratis tend to look alike, his force of personality accentuates these features, granting him a charm which is not common amongst his people. His body is well-muscled but very slender, and is completely devoid of any scars or blemishes. The only time Isu-Dras reveals these features, aside from extremely intimate situations, however, is during his ritualistic dances. These performances, which encompass his daily prayers to Zoser, involve the removal of two of the four swathes which he is clothed with, completely exposing his body from the waist up. While one end of each swathe remains interwoven with those which conceal the rest of his body, the other ends are left to freely drift, directed only by the movement of his hands. However, he rarely allows these dances to be seen by those he is unfamiliar with, and the graceful spins and twists which make up this ritual appear to be completely freeform.

Personality

While remaining wary of others at first, Isu-dras is surprisingly friendly once befriended. However, he frequently comes off as cold or uncaring to those he does not know, and his appearance creates the image of an antisocial to many. While slightly cynical, he does have a good, if grim, sense of humor, though his words can be extremely biting toward those he dislikes.
Isu-drasâ,¬,,¢ actions, while backed by good intentions, appear to be very spontaneous, though half the time they are actually incredibly well thought out. However, if one attempts to harm him or his friends, he does not hesitate to use the powers bestowed upon his deity to smite them, and he has been known to strike down offensive individuals with no remorse.

Hidden behind an exotic animal tent, you notice a small tatooed halfling leaning on a cart filled with fruit and racks of slowly cooking shishkabobs. He looks fairly disinterested and isn't making nearly as much effort to sell his wares as the other merchants, but judging by the amount he seems to be selling, his food must be good nontheless.
[ic=tatooed halfling] As you aproach he says "care for a bit 'o' grup then? Best stuff you'll find here. just a silver a stick, and i'll throw in some redfruit too."[/ic]
[ic=for kaine] Only read this if your wings are out in the open. ignore it if they're covered up somehow. As you pass through the marketplace many of the passerbyes pause in their dealing to look at the wings growing from your back, and you hear many muffled gasps and muttered exclamations. [/ic]

"How much for just the redfruit?", Kaine asks while scanning the different tattoos on the Halfling.

[ic=Gugaba]Gugaba wades through the crowd, hand on his purse. Smelling the scent of cooking meat, he heads over tot he vendor. Seeing a raptoran engaging the halfling in conversation, Gugaba waits by the side, groping in his pouch for a few silver.[/ic]
[ic=tatooed halfling] Pulling his eyes away from the lump made by Kaine's wings he says, "Well, the fruits be 2 coppers each, but one won't make much of a meal for a big creature like yourself. Tell you what, i'll give ye three of them for just half a silver. That sound fair to you?" Noticing Gugaba he calls out, "Hey there fellow. You want some of the fruits too, or you looking for something a bit more substantial?"[/ic]
As you look at his tatoos you notice them to be mostly abstract knots and other patterns, but there are several of intertwined snakes and skulls, as well as a long centipede along the back of both arms and across his shoulders.

The disturbance is too far to see clearly, but there appears to ba a new crowd that is forcing it's way through the rapidly retreating merchants and shoppers. You can't quite make out the yells, but they have an almost chant-like quality to them.
[ic=Kaine] "Thank you" Kaine stuffs two of the fruits into his backpack, and then, following the halfling's lead, he moves off to the side. "What's going on? What is all the commotion about?"[/ic]
[ic=Isu-Dras]Turning to face the crowd, Isu-Dras' eyes widen behind his sun lenses as the angry chants fall upon his ears. However, he holds his ground in the middle of the marketplace as he awaits to witness the origin of these chants.[/ic]
[ic=halfling to Gugaba and Kaine]"It's those damn anti-machine protesters again. What do they call themselves... the Born or Trueborn or some stupid name like that. They don't seem to have a problem using tools, but these warforged and other new marvels have really stirred them up."[/ic]
[ic=to Isu-dras] As the crowd in front of them begins to part, you see the yellers fro who they are. A large mob of mostly humans, but with a smattering of other races, looking to be mostly peasants and working classes by their garb. Many of them are still carrying pitchforks and tools as if they just came from their toil. You can't make out all of the cries, but you catch some words like "filthy 'chines" "they ain't even alive" and "smash em, burn em". Carried at the front of the group is a suit of archaic-looking plate armour that is impaled on several or the poles. This seems to be the focus of their anger. [/ic]

[ic=Kaine] "Huh", is the only response Kaine gives. He takes a bite of the redfruit in his hands. "Why do they hate the warforged so much?", Kaine finally says with a few pieces of fruit flying from his mouth. He turns the fruit slightly and takes another bite, waiting for a response from the halfling.[/ic]
The soil is mostly sand and dirt, but it has been packed solid by decades of feet walking across it.
[ic=halfling] "Who knows with those crazies. A lot of them are just nervous and are getting dragged along. Mostly i think they're just afraid of change. The worst of them are the religious types. Going on and on about them being sacreligious and an afront to god. Me, i say as long as they do a good days work and leave me be, then let em do what they please." [/ic]

[ic=@ Isu-dras] Most of the bystanders appear to have pulled back and no one seems about to leap to stand with you. Several members of the mob are begining to slow down, seeing you in the road, but those at the forefront do not appear to be slowing down. As you stare them down, you get a better look at what they are carrying. What you at first mistook for a suit of armour, in fact contains a person, although something about them doesn't look quite right. Is it perhaps some sort of manikin? [/ic]
[ic=halfling] Glancing at the mob he excalaims, "oh no. They actually nabbed one this time. This'll bring the damn cloaks down on us all."[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]Watching some of the mob members continue their brisk pace, the asherati decides with much reluctancy to make himself more noticed. It has been a long time since he has been able to elude the bounty hunters for so long, but the actions of this mob are ones of cruel intentions, and for that he will not stand.
Raising his arm before him, Isu-dras holds his ground. As the foremost members of the mob are within a spear's reach before him, the cleric snaps his wrist up into a stopping gesture, and his flesh flares to life. Light pours through the folds in his silk bindings, and Isu-dras' face becomes lost in the brilliant white light shed by his skin. Opening his mouth beneath its swathes, the asherati booms, "Stop!" in a commanding timbre, the usual rasp in his voice lost in its raised tone.[/ic]
[ooc]Supa, in case said mannequin is a warforged, for future reference Constructs (such as warforged) are incapable of wearing armor.[/ooc]
[ic] Crying out in surprise, the mob comes to a half and so of the stragglers near the back and sides fall back or begin to cower. The ringleaders at the front stop so suddenly they nearly drop the figure they are carrying and you can now clearly see the armour and the being inside to be one adn the same. All but one of the leaders pull back and begin to whisper amongt themselves. The one who remains is a grizzled man in a blacksmith's apron, and he carries a large sledgehammer.[/ic]
[ic=smith]"Who the hell d'you think you are then. You can't stop us from dealing with this peice of junk. It's just a tool." He shouts, raising his hammer slightly and glancing at his comrades for support. There are a few scattered replies, but for the most part, the mob looks very nervous.[/ic]

[ic=@Gugaba and Kaine]Looking at the mob you see the frontrunners to be carrying what looks like a full suit of armour above them but, judging by the expresion of the halfling, this must be one of the warforged he spoke of. Standing in the now clear path of the mob is a single man swathedd in black cloth. As the mob continues towards him he holds out his hand and yells stop, and a flash of intense light seems to emanate from his body, shinning out through the cracks in his clothing. With this, most of the mob comes to a rapid halt and stands around looking nervous, while one burly smith from the front stands facing tthe stranger and begins yelling at him. You can't quite make out his words, but he is obviously angry.[/ic]

Kaine watches the man as he takes another bite of his refruit. "I wonder what that fool is doing. He is either very brave or very stupid to stand in front of a raging mob"[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]"I'm going to go with stupid. If the redcloaks show up, he'll be at their mercy." Wanting to not be caught with food in his hands should trouble erupt, the goblin passes the kabobs to his left hand and begins eating with vigor.[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]"A tool does not require the aid of a mob." Isu-dras shoots back at the blacksmith. "And I think I am a patron of Zoser, and that you would happen to be a smith."
Isu-dras' skin returns to its usual red rust coloration, and the asherati folds his arms as his sun lenses stare emotionlessly at the blacksmith. "Tell me, why is it that you, a man whose profession is to create tools, wishes to destroy the very thing you have built your life upon?" He glances at the figure trapped within the metal armor, "And what has this 'tool' done to you to deserve its own destruction?"[/ic]
[ic=Smith]"They're taking work out of the hands of honest tradesmen and workers. And besides, they're unnatural. How is is livin? There ain't no spirit. Hell, there ain't even none of that magic nonsense. Just some wheels and steam. How can you call that alive? Am i right?" he shouts, glancing at his increasingly nervous comrades. There are a few yells in answer, but they all come from those safely at the back. "Besides, I heard one of them was what killed the Berholt family. Even their kid. Not to mention all those people going missing. People ain't safe no more. Well, i ain't gonna stand for it any longer. If a tool don't do what it's 'sposed to, you melt it down to make ones that do." And with that he lifts his hammer and strides over to pick up the crippled warforged. "This is for Berholts and all the rest of us real people," he yells while winding up for a crushing blow. [/ic]

[ic=Gugaba]Gugaba watches with intrest but at the same time his yellow eyes dart about, nervously looking for an easy exit.[/ic]

[ic=Kaine] "This guy is going to get himself killed" Kaine drops the half eaten fruit and starts to move toward the smith and mob. As he moves forward he flexes his wings to make the cloak fall away exposing them to the air once again. [/ic]

[ic] The rest of the mob, as well as many of the bystanders, start muttering amonst themselves and the are cries of "an angel" and "oh lord." There are also those that don't look so sure but they are also holding back in the crowd. The warforged is now lying on the ground and you notice there is only a faint glow coming from it's eyes, and one of it's legs is broken off below the knee, exposing pistons and gears.[/ic]

As the raptorian stuns the mob, Isu-dras watches the newcomer with quiet surprise and confusion.
This is no celestial being...but I do not know what an angel is, either...either way, it is helping me, and that is a favor I must return.
Listening to Kiane's words, Isu-dras steps up alongside the raptorian, their bodies in sharp contrast of one another. "Do as he says, but before you go, ask yourselves what being 'alive' truly means. This warforged," he gestures at the crippled construct, "may not breathe or bleed, but it thinks and learns for itself, does that not make it alive? Isn't being 'alive' simply a definition of an entity's own self-awareness? If so," the asherati glares directly at the blacksmith, his head tilted down to allow the man to look directly into the black pupils of his otherwise white eyes, "then you are murdering this warforged by robbing it of its own sentience. Think about that." [/ic]
[ic= @kaine and isu] At your words many of the crowd start nodding their heads and mutturing while a large number of their comrades slink off solemnly. Their is still a significant crowd there but all the spite seems to have left them. [/ic]

[ic=Kaine] This is what I get for helping suicidal people, Kaine thinks to himself as he watches the cloaked figures moving around him. Kaine pops the cover off his scroll case and pulls out a repair light damage scroll. He begins casting it trying to fix some of the warforged's damage.

As the redcloaks form a cordon around the market you hear someone - was it that halfling? you can't tell - yell out "redcloaks! scatter," and while most of the crowd stands around looking nervous, several people, including much of the mob, begin running for the now blocked alleyways, while others clamber onto the roofs of stalls and then onto rooftops. From a few points around the ring of red you hear unnaturally loud voices bellow "Stay where you are. We are here to round up the perpetrators for questioning, and to recover the damaged property of the state. That is all. We repeat. Remain where you are."[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]The keen goblin freezes and hopes his small size will keep the redcloak's eyes off of him at least for a little bit. Glancing around to see if anyone is watching, Gugaba slowly tries to slip into a dark corner or a crowd.

Of those of the crowd who tried to run through, some got away but many were stopped and had their hands bound, whereas the most violent were simply clubbed to the ground. Individual redcloacks are now walking over to the groups of bystanders and begin questioning them. A tall man with the stripes of a sargent as well as another with a corporal's stipes overlain with an eye are now approaching Kaine and Isu-Dras.
"People are saying many thing about you two. I've heard you attacked the mob, you started the whole affair, and you ended it. Some have also said you both attacked and save the 'chine. Which of these is it? Also, I see you have quite an armory on yourselves. Might I see your charter."[/ic]
[ic=@Gugaba]Some of the Redcloaks have split off and are searching behind the assorted stalls. A few are getting quite close to where you are hiding.[/ic]

[ic=Isu=dras]"It is true that we stopped the mob," Isu-dras replies in his raspy voice, "but we took no violent actions against them or this construct. As for a charter...I did not know that one was required. I have recently arrived, and I know little of this place."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine] "Only words were used to disperse the mob that was intent on destroying this warforged. I was in the process of repairing as much damage as I could, before you arrived." He looks the redcloak up and down. "I do not have a charter. I too just arrived, I was sampling some of the local food when the commotion started. If this is your warforged, then I will leave him in your capable hands and be on my way."[/ic]
[ic=@kaine and isu] Sargent: "that is what i have heard from many, and since those who told me, didn't partake in the mob, i am inclined to beleive them. There will still be an official investigation, but for my part i accept your explanation. However, the lack of a charter is a serious offense. There will be a warning since you are new, but i warn you now. All freelancer groups must be registered with the adventurers guild and carry their charter if they wish to carry weapons within the city limits, as well as to accept employment nearby. I can get you pushed to the head of the lines, but only if you register first thing tommorow."
Other guard: "People were saying that angels intervened. I know you to be a raptorian and no celestial, but what about you? Is there any celestial blood in you?"[/ic]

The guild has seperate chapter houses in each major town, and they accept charters from other towns, but each group has different rules and traits. The central government mandates that each town regulate it's own guild, but they each must have one to control the carrying of weapons (included non-physical weapons such as spells). Registration is not mandatory, but it give you more freedom within the town and access to certain resources. It also means you have a file and have to kive up secrets about your powers. [/ooc]

From what you can gather, this is an uncommon event, but has been getting worryingly more common recently. The opinions seem to favour the side of the warforged, but they are still significantly split. There are also many other topics being passed around, including the actions of the two strangers outside, and you also keep catching brief mentions of some dissaoearances recently which some people think are connected to the anti-chine riots, others are attributing to the cloaks, although no one seems to want to outright accuse them, and others still are blaming any number of other culprits, from orcs to giants to demons.[/ic]

All of a sudden B notices you watching them and turns towards you.

"Those things ain't real. The churches just made them up. He probly just cast a spell, or had a special lantern or something. He weren't really an angel. Was he?" [/ic]

[ic=@Kaine and Isu] After taking you leave of the guards, and making the short walk down the market road, you come upon The Worn Blade. A large building of stone and wood, it doesn't seem to have been built so much as grew. The original building is still visible, but other floors and add-ons have caused it to grow onto the other nearby buildings and overhang the lane in front of it. The building looks in good repair though and has a brightly painted sign out front that shows a pitted sword hanging above a fireplace. the door is wide open and you can hear the noise of many discussions coming from inside, including a few raised voices.[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]Stepping back a few feet, Gugaba tries to seem smaller, a trick he's good at. "I's jus say'n what people say'n. Lotsa people says angels real, they gonna keep thinkin' dat wit Shiny wakin 'round. You beats him, you be showin' us yous right. Udurwize people think wat people think, ya?"[/ic]
[ic=@gugaba] Seeming to calm down a bit and getting a mischevous gleam in his eye, he walks towards you.
"You know, you're making a lot of sense. So now what i want you to do, is find that damn glowbug for me, so's i can show people what's what. How about that?" he says with a grin spreading across his face. "You're a clever lil' guy. What about you come stick with us. We'll help you out and you work for us. What d'ya say?" [/ic]

Most of the cloaks that ventured inside have left by this point.[/ic]

[ooc] they are fairly close to you (the common room is big, but not huge) but the place is fairly crowded and Gugaba is unfortunately short, so no, you can't see them at the moment.[/ooc]
[ic=Gugaba]Gugaba prowls around the room, trying to remain inconspicuous. (I'm going to assume that he finds them) Slipping up to Kaine, Gugaba says in a nonchalant tone "Hello again, you and your friend seem to be the center of attention for today."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine] Unfortunately these wings draw attention and it seems our friend here had a death wish. Kaine turns to Isu'dras. Next time you may want to get out of the way when and angry mob approaches[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]Chuckling polietly, Gugaba asks "May I buy you gentlemen a drink? I have a proposition I'd like to discuss."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine]Kaine looks down at the goblin. I hope it is nothing illegal. He gives the goblin and inquisitive look and then adds, But a drink would be nice.[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]"Nothing more illegal than what you were doing in the market. Me name is Gugaba, lets get a seat." Gugaba leads the way to a table clearly out of sight of "B."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine]Kaine follows Gugaba to a table and takes a seat[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]Carefully taking a seat, Isu-dras carefully rests his fingertips on the hilt of one of his wrist-bound daggers beneath the table. He does not trust this shifty-looking goblin, but knows better to hear it out before doing anything too rash.[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]Pulling himself onto a chair, Gugaba smiles. "I thought you might want to know that not everyone liked what you did back there. In fact, you may be in more danger than you know. Now, for a small investment, I can give you information on how to get out of hot water."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine] Kaine looks at the goblin for a moment and then chuckles. "I have been in trouble before and as you can see I am perfectly healthy. Now if that is all, I would like to get a room and finish looking around this fine city." [/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]"If you insist in being ignorant to danger, so be it. In any case, I'm more interested in him." Gugaba turns to regard the black-swathed stranger and asks "Surely, you would not ignore a threat?"[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]"I would," Isu-dras calmly replies, "if that threat requires greed to make itself evident. If this is such a danger, then I will face it when it comes around."[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]"Oi! You think you're so high and mighty? A knife in the back will do a lot to change that. If you decide that you need protection from the shadows, gimmie a ring, eh?" Gugba, clearly annoyed at a plan gone wrong, slips out of his chair and gives a nod before slipping off into the crowd.[/ic]

[ic=Kaine] Kaine sighs. You try to get rich off the paranoid and then you get angry at us for not participating in your scheme. Kaine looks around for the barmaid. Saying such things as putting a knife in our backs so loudly would be cause enough for us to think you are the one who poses any kind of threat. Kaine looks to the other end of the tavern in search of some service. What about the drink you promised? Was that just talk to lure us to the table? I do hope you are not a salesman. You couldn't be no saleman would give up after one failed attempt at a sale, besides salesman at least don't stiff you when they tell you they will buy you a drink. He winks and smiles at the goblin.[/ic]
[ic=@gugaba] As you stand up you notice that the large man has seen who you're sitting with. He begins to stand, but his friend sits him back down and whispers something in his ear. The large man scowls and turns back to his beer.[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]Gugaba sneers "Peh! I don't buy drinks for stuck up mizers. I though you two might be worth protectin' but aparently you don't have the brains to care 'bout your own backs. Now, unless you have a little gold to wave or a reason for me to stick around, I have better things to do."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine] I hope those better things are more prosperous for you. Kaine waves the goblin off as he chuckles. He turns his attention back to the stranger. So, where do you call home? Kaine finally spots the barmaid and tries to catch her attention.[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]Quietly flipping a rude gesture at "Birdman." Gugaba slips over to "B" and waits to see the man's initial reaction.[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]"I don't really have anywhere to call home." Isu-dras carefully replies. "I am a travelling priest, and because of my duties and many other circumstances I have not been to my birthplace in many years."[/ic]
[ic=Kaine] So what brings you here? Kaine watches the barmaid hoping that she comes over to their table[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]"I'm just passing through, I needed a place to rest. The soil here is too hard for that. You?"[/ic]
[ic=Kaine] Kaine looks strangly at the stranger when he mentions the soil is too hard. That is what a bedroll is for. I am participating in a tradition of my people. From the ridge I can see the lights of this city, so I decided this would be my first stop.[/ic]
[ic=@gugaba] The large man looks very surly as you approach his table, but stays calm-ish and begins to ask a rush of questions. "Well, what'd it say? what do you know? how can i get that stupid punk?" [/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]"He no angel, but don' jump in. You wana prove a point, but if you mess wit him here da redcloaks will be on ya like a cat on rat." Gugaba cracks his neck. "The trick'll be making sure everybodys knows you're goina get 'im and then show up wit his shiny necklace. Oi, mind if I sits?" Gugaba moves toward a chair/stool if there is one.[/ic]
[ic=Kaine: If the barmaid ever makes it to their table] What do you have for local spirits? Kaine turns to Isu and asks, Do you want anything? I'm buying since the goblin stiffed us and you're paying for the room.[/ic]

[ic= @ Kaine and Isu] The barmaid comes over and then, in response to your query points you to a board behind the bar with many drinks listed. It is easy to tell that this is a port town by the sheer number of exotic drinks availiable. "It all depends on what you're looking for. We have alcoholic and other drinks too. There's some good ale brewed right below us, or if you're looking for something a bit stronger, we recently got in some Firewine form down south. It's a bit more expensive, but worth it if you're looking for something to take the edge off a day it's the trick."[/ic]
[ic= @gugaba] "of course. Why wouldn't i let a buisness partner sit. So where do we get? You sad he had a necklace? Was that how he made that flash?"[/ic]
[ic=Kaine]The local ale will be fine for me. He turns to Isu[/ic]
[ic=Isu-dras]"Nothing for me, thanks." Isu-dras rasps. "I'm not thirsty." Settling into his seat a little more, Isu-dras slips off his sun lenses and lays them down on the table. "I'm intrigued, what is this tradition of your's?"[/ic]
[ic=Kaine]It is nothing really. Those who think they are ready leave the cliff to gain knowledge and strength to one day fly back home. After watching one of my people returning I started to decide between taking this journey, or choosing an age-mate. So I weighed the pros and cons of each option since the festival for the one who returned last year. I wanted to feel the wind flowing through my wings, to be part of the sky and someday fly back to my cliff. Until then I am here travelling where ever the wind blows. Kaine stops there and stares out the window.[/ic]
[ic=Gugaba]Pulling himself up onto the chair, Gugaba continues to speak in his false accent "Dono. Dat silver bauble is easy to see it's his tho. If yous got it an' he ended up in a less dan comfy place, den yous be able to say yous got 'im witout doin' it 'front of people."

They are crovded around a tall man in red robes that is slouched in the corner and conjuring small flashes of light and small glowing creatures that flit around their heads before dissapearing. All of the women seem quite enthralled by him.[/ic]

sorry there hasn't been any progression recently. I have been obscenely busy recently and will remain so until about nest sunday (july 2). There may be some minor story bits between now and then, but most likely not. the plan is to start the game back up either that night or the day after.
Also, if Crit is still ready to go, we will slot his character in shortly after and my friend may be joining too.
