Title: dual-wielding spells
Post by: Loch Belthadd on November 09, 2008, 08:12:34 PM
is there a 3.5 feat that lets you dual-wield touch spells? I was playing a Blue Mage and thought it would be cool to have inflict light wounds in one hand and cure light wounds in the other.  :rambo:

You can do that with Wands, easily enough however I haven't come across any feat that would allow you to do what you are asking.

I checked Realmshelp (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/featsform.pl), which as a comprehensive list of feats but couldn't find any thing :(

This is an interesting idea.  I'm not sure it would be perfectly "balanced" but if you're playing 3.5 you are probably more intoerested in it being cool and just not super broken than perfectly balanced (and there is NOTHING wrong with that).

I'd say just make it a feat, simple as that.  I would have the prerequisites include a minimum Dexterity and the ability to cast at least two touch spells (I might go with just arcane but you may want arcane or divine).

I'd make it a full round action, so you can't combine it with Quicken Spell and I would limit the attack to a melee touch attack for spells only (so the Warlock can't abuse it).

I don't see any reason not to make the warlock abuse it; first of all, he lags behind in damage just a bit in later levels anyway (when I assume this hypothetical feat would be available), and he could simply use Hideous Blow anyway.

Perhaps... As long as the feat is limited to melee touch and takes a full round action, I suppose it isn't broken.

I was thinking it takes a full round action and counts as casting two spells at once, which takes two spell slots. I was also wondering what do you think would happen if you have two opposite spells in your hands and claped them together? I think it will explode! :D

Back in 2E, didn't they have rules for when you put a bag of holding into another bag of holding? Why not use those rules (for some equally hilarious and horrible results). :)
