First time I checked the CG Forums, I noticed stalls on the server, then noticed there was 423 guests and 31 members online. Was that right? It was. Since 5 pm onward there's been at least 150 guests at all times!
It turns out that Gabe, from Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com) posted a link to the CG on the home page, after discovering the much needed maps for a WotC adventure were available at the guild.
Today, alone, 187 new members joined! Arcana is ecstatic. Its still climbing!
Kind of cool - maybe some big-wig out there can discover the CBG and do the same thing! ;)

Holy crap; that's quite an endorsement!
Congratulations to your community on the fortuitous influx of new members.
That is all kinds of awesome.
Well... several kinds.
Good work.
Holy Crap!
I just sent him an email offering the CBGs help on all his campaign creation needs.

Uh oh...
we may end up having to tie arcana and ishy to chairs or they will bounce through the roof with excitement (and worry about potential server crashes lol).
Thanks, LC - oh, and funnier still, there were threads with about 300 views yesterday, that have almost 8,000 views today!
It blows my mind! Since I market my map printing business closely with the Guild, that could mean lots of business my way, as well! I'm hopeful anyway.

LOL - that's funny! Actually I was wondering if the CWBP could get help from you wonderous world designers here. The CG is mostly mappers, we've got world dabblers involved, some good ones too, even our own NPC illustrator from Finland, but we really lack the talent on this site! Since many of the CG's members are D&D players, I thought that it might be counter-productive to your aesthetics.
The CWBP (Community World Building Project) could really use your expertise!

Well hey, let's get some people together and see what can happen. I've been itching to collaborate with someone who is a good artist. We have an active IRC chat - maybe the CG and PS can get some representation there; it'd be a good place to get some thoughts colliding and forming covalent bonds.
Wow, the fabled PA bump. Congratulations! (And pray that your server can handle it)
They did this for the alliance... now I feel the urge to give back (perhaps I could stat out a cardboard tube samurai prestige class).

I think you'd have to go Paragon Path, as he's playing 4E but, great idea!
As for the Cartographer's site, great for them (or us as I am a member), so beers all around! :drunk:
Actually, someone made a CTSamurai PrC back in the day of 3.5. Do a google search on the wotc boards, it might be somewhere in the archives.
They did the same thing with Obsidian Portal a couple weeks ago. Same deal :p
GL with getting some more business Gamer Printshop
I had considered sending him something about this site but, in the interest of not crushing this server or overrunning our community, I didn't.
