Title: Art Requests
Post by: Matt Larkin (author) on May 05, 2009, 04:05:44 PM
If anyone good with computer graphics programs has some free time, I've got a request:

I need a picture of a cracked hourglass. Preferably in the 80 x 80 range, although if it can also be scaled down to badge size that works too.

I've found some hourglasses as public domain images, but I don't know about putting cracks in them.

[ooc]And anyone else can use this thread to put up art requests.[/ooc]

Give me the image you want cracked and I'll see what I can do.

Sorry I thought you were talking actual pictures of hourglasses. I can't do much with this type.

Hm, you mean like a photograph instead of clip art?

I'll see if I can find one. My worry is that with a complex image, it would become hard to see what it is when shrunk down to badge size. But maybe not.

I'm sure you don't want to pay for art, but that's what I'm doing now to prepare for my publication in the next month. There are many great artists over at the dementia 5 publishing forums and many with reasonable rates. Consider some are offering full color cover art for as low as $50 with less for interior art, even less for b/w art. It might be worth checking out, if you're serious about getting art for your worlds...

Dementia 5 (http://www.dementia5.com/community/) - visit the Art Forum, check out the work and contact appropriate artists.

Hey thanks GP. It's something to keep in mind for the future.

I tried making one on my own. Came out okay, though the crack isn't noticeable at the smallest badge size. (http://www.thecbg.org/e107_files/public/hourglass.gif)
