The Star Mountains (http://juergen.the-huberts.net/dnd/urbis/star_mountains.html) are one of those regions of Urbis (http://juergen.the-huberts.net/dnd/urbis/) I'm not quite happy with. They are a vast mountain range in the middle of the local equivalent of Africa, and their most notable feature is that it is easy to reach other planets from there - a simple teleport spell will do it there, while you need the equivalent of epic spells to reach them from elsewhere.
This means that this mountain range is the home base for a few explorers who explore other worlds - and it also has some outposts founded by beings from other planets who want to explore and spread to this world. So far, so good - but somehow, I have trouble filling out the region by coming up with interesting locations.
Can anyone help me out here?
Variable magic zones ala planar effects.
A hollow mountain, leading to a vast underground sea.
The odd star cruiser along the lines of the SDF-1.
Blink Valley.
Oops, I didn't mean to stumble across your massive alien invasion force.
The Magic Bus.

And any alien technology should be just that - alien.

Now we are just getting silly... ;)

We actually had a Magic Bus in a 1st edition game I ran back in '83-84. :jive:
That might be, but magical buses are not quite the direction I wanted Urbis to go...
I mean, golem-drawn railroads are one thing, but I have to draw the limit somewhere. ;)
Well, I put up some new material (http://juergen.the-huberts.net/dnd/urbis/star_mountains.html).
Any other ideas that don't involve magic buses? ;)
