A few years back, some friends and I who hold weekly sessions decided to give our group a nickname in order to help people remember us and to ease recruitment. Anyways, after talking with another group that did the same out in Vegas, we settled on the Ogres moniker, short for the Organization of Gamers & Roleplaying Enthusiasts.
To make a long story short: it was a massive success. A gaming group with 9-12 members and 2-3 games has now expanded to include our entire regional gaming community of 45-50 active rpgers and 12-13 active games any year, though us "originals" still are the "core" who keep the moniker going.
So, after setting up more chapters, we're finally working to become a legitimate organization to help with gamer networking. To stop rambling, I'll cut to the chase: you may be able to set up a chapter in your city and the rewards could be worth it.

May seem cheesy or uber geeky, but it can help a gaming community truly come together, and in the long run we hope to have a fully interactive online site that can streamline regional gaming meetups.
embrace your inner geek.
Looks like you've done a great job. I have to say that gaming with other CBGers is somethig I think about a lot.
Online gaming with Nomadic, Llum, and Meanest has only made this urge greater.
