This appears to be the discussion page for the May Contest.
Questions? Cheering? Jeering? General shenanigans? Have at it.
I love the prompt. Ideas are percolating.
I will contribute. I hope. I do still have to do this "degree" thing for a bit, however.
Finished the Cult of the Authority for Steerpike's Tempter. I hope that it is darkly entertaining (in a catch-22 way of hopelessness), or at least mildly appealing.
It includes some in-references to Steerpike's game factions; but if you like pseudo-Historical-Biblical trivia, it plays a little on some of that, but of course nothing in-depth. It can also be described as a vaguely philosophical treatment of humanity's struggle itself.
Enjoy!
(SP- feel free to add this to your thread. I understand however if you do not :) Just giving you the option.)
Another entry for a Steerpike setting. As with LD's cult - feel free to incorporate it if you want, or to make any changes.
Wow! I'm flattered by both cults. Both look excellent, and fit very well with my own material - and I like how morally gray both are, which also fits.
Having trouble choosing a setting. Anyone want a geometry-hallucinogen-collectivism-immortality-mystery cult in their world?
It is probably a better idea to find someone's setting you like and then try to brainstorm a group that would fit the background of their world-- working up rather than down-- that might be easier; just pick a setting here that you enjoy reading, and then an idea should flow naturally.
You might have a look at Broken Verge, Kindling - sounds like something like that would fit in well.

Me me me :P
Hmm I need a world to create a cult for... and I do have Mare Eternus if anyone wants to create a cult from the limited information I have finished.
I like the idea of this contest, too, I just don't know what world I would create a cult for.
I would be honored to have a crazy cult in Broken Verge! Any kind really.
Just be careful where you draw your inspiration from regarding my setting as there are a few versions lying around here. Take the newest threads; Broken Verge: Nations of the North and Broken Verge: Mortals and Immortals primarily. Avoid the primer and such. Some of the religion material in the wiki is still okay.
I'll figure out a cult for a setting myself soon... I have to defend my title as the last contest winner after all :D
C. Crow... you sort of sound like WhiteWolf there with all the updated sourcebooks :D
Good Luck.
Contest is closed a little late.
(Next time, I'm making it in Japan Standard Time, so I actually know the day and time I want to close it.)
Now vote.
Congrats to our winner for this month, Ghostman.
All of the entries were excellent, and I was surprised with how fast they were completed. Shows that people do actually read other peoples' settings. Keep it up, lads and lasses.

It's midterms-time in Japan right now, but as I had a contest suggestion, I should have one up over the weekend.
Yay, my first CBG award :whoa:
Thank you all who voted, and kudos to contest participants.
Congratulations Ghostman!
An honor competing besides you. :p
Congrats, Ghostman! If you hadn't seen, by the way, your cult and deity have been added into the main thread of the Cadaverous Earth.
Congratulations Ghostman.
