Octillionaires Hunting Club
Late in the 33rd century a group of extremely wealthy businessmen from
the North American Corporations Alliance(NACA) formed a social club based
on Europa, Jupiter. The club was at first just another fraternity for
extremely wealthy businessmen, who had made obscene amounts of money in
the off-world resource market. Having little else to concern themselves
with, they designed a game to keep them occupied.
The Octillionaires Hunting Club was formed July the 4th 3311 and it's
company charter was signed by 11 men. The following July, only 3 of those
original members were still alive. The club began taking applicants and soon the ranks swelled.
Because of it's offworld locale and private funding, the governments of the world turned a blind eye.
There are no official records of the OHC and it is considered a myth.
The only non-participating member of the club is Ernhardt Drake, a
former Corporation Ambassador to the Martian Colonies. Drake was the
mastermind behind the Hunting Club and the First Champion. Drake is now
considered a referee for future 'hunts'. He is responsible for the care
of the Lodge facility and using his political ties to make any unwanted
government attention disappear.
In short, these wealthy businessmen are bored and want some excitement.
They are flown to Europa, and there they participate in what is one of
the few remaining thrills in a veritable utopian society, the
exhilaration of a fighting to the death in the wilderness.
The Lodge facility is a beautiful structure with many levels below and
above ground. The outside is designed to look like an old 20th century
hunting lodge of enormous size. Below ground are the more advanced
(contemporary) facilities. An armory stretches for 17 acres, and is
continually stocked with weapons from countless eras. Any weapon or tool
of destruction can be found in the Armory.
There are leisure facilities for the guests to enjoy between matches.
These include a gymnasium equipped with a zero-gravity chamber, a
scenario room with holographic database, and several olympic sized
swimming pools. There are also numerous dining halls with fully automated staff and an auditorium.
A magnetic rail car connects the compound to a small aerospace port.
Larger ships can dock at an orbiting facility.
In the deepest part of the facility lies Drakes personal quarters and
viewing lair. From here he monitors the matches via satellite and local
video capture. From his monitoring station Drake can send in his
'Centurions' to administer penalties for infractions of the rules, or in
the rare case of cowardice, dispose of the contestants.
[ic=Drakes Address, 11th Meeting]
Welcome.
As you know my name is Ernhardt Drake and I am the presiding president of the OHC. This is the 11th meeting of our prodigious society and I do hope our reputation precedes us. For many of you this is your first visit to New Olympus. In a moment my assistant will show you how your hard-earned money has helped fund this facility and the environment here on Europa. But first, I would like to address a very important matter.
This is a competition; and like any competition there are formal and informal rules that apply to certain circumstances. Let it be known that if you in any way break any of the rules that apply to these games-your life will be forfeit. Not only that, but the members of this organization will do everything in their power to utterly destroy any of your economic holdings on Earth. Your legacy will be removed from the history books and your name disgraced.
Now, as you know we do enjoy a bit of civility in our matches-this is not the stone age. But let me warn you-give no quarter, because none will be given. This is a fight to the death.
For now, let us enjoy these last moments of good company, and in two days the competition will begin.

Very cool. Not much to say, just that I like it. Is this going to be a setting?
Not sure yet. Just an idea that popped into my head.
Battle Royale for rich whiny 20-somethings. I wanna watch!

The Monolith is not pleased.
