Kind of cool. One of the leading CG members and published cartographer, Jonathon Roberts, lives in New York City and is arranging for a digital art gallery showing of maps from the Cartographers' Guild.
This art gallery features a dozen large flat screens on walls and suspended from ceiling, then high resolution digital files are displayed on screens. Since there will probably be more than a dozen maps for the show, the screens rotate images every so many minutes. Attendees can purchase Gicle (inkjet to canvas) printing for $25 per map, apart from costs, profits are split 70/30 between the gallery and the artist.
Not sure of the date of the event, but I'll be sure to post in this thread when I know. Of course I have been asked to submit 4 - 6 maps for the show (those copyrightable for printing). Its really cool to have an art showing of my work, and other masterpieces of the guild in NYC!
You don't see that everyday.

All kinds of cool right there.
I'd love to make that show.

Found out more: the gallery showing will be from July 16 through the 29th, 2010. The gallery is Soho Gallery of Digital Art, NYC (http://www.sohodigart.com)

Very cool, I wish I could see something like that.
The plot thickens...
There's going to be a second gallery showing, based on next month's Cartographers' Guild mapping challenge... I can't say anymore.

That is absolutely awesome. I wish you guys all the luck.
