Something's funky with the server. We appear to be consuming waay too many resources at seemingly random intervals. It may just be too many people loading the site at one time, although I know we've gone through higher traffic periods without this much trouble. I'm "monitoring the situation" and trying to figure out the best way to keep this from happening.
If you want to help, when you get an error, please tell me the error you got, what page you were on, what time it was (you don't have to convert to EST, but at least tell me your timezone ^_^), and maybe about how long you were on the site and whatever else you think might be helpful.
Are we still using the daggerhart server? If so have you contacted him about the issue?
The Majority of the Errors I get are "500 Internal Server Error" and typically come after looking at a few threads successively.
I get that same issue often.
Just got one today:
12:55 PM Pacific
QuoteInternal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@thecbg.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I was just looking at my's Profile, hit the Home tab at the top and got the error.
I believe the server issues have been fixed. The problem was an exploit in our site code common to many e107 installations that has now been disabled. We may continue to have some performance issues as bots attempting to use the exploit simply put a high traffic load on the server, but it shouldn't go down every 2 hours anymore.
Please let me know if any problems continue.
Thanks for all your work, we all really appreciate it!
Great. Good work.
Had some issues around 3:30. Had used the search function, checked some threads with it, went into the forum, clicked a subforum, then nothing. Went away fast (it's stopped by now for me, so... yeah, no biggie I guess).

More reason for the Drupal-based CBG 2.0?
Edit-- 500 error for about a minute or two as I was posting this. I don't think e107 liked my suggestion...
Just got the 500 error again. Wonder if there's something else in there that's still letting the spammers in? I hate e107 so much.
Internal Server Error @ 9:53
Creating first time user accounts seems to be an issue. In the end, mine was created although I never did receive an automated e-mail from the server. Also, the "forgot password" system just responds with a "incorrect code" message when I enter the correct data.
Check your logs to see how many successful new members have joined in the last while. It will probably be none.

Actually we have no pending members. The issue you had is likely due to the fact that brainface had to disable website emails temporarily to stop spambots from exploiting a loophole. You may have just gotten caught in the time period when the email was down.

Yeah, the glitch
looks like it only affected you, fortunately. I manually confirmed you because your not a spambot entry suggested that you were not, in fact, a spambot. That's why you were able to post despite never getting an email confirmation.
Welcome to the site, by the way.
Yes, welcome dimonic and glad to have you aboard our particular turtle-powered cabbage-ship!
Yes, greetings!
500 Internal Server error at 4:41 PM Pacific. I was posting a reply in the Tavern.
EDIT: another one at 5:33 Pacific, just trying to log on :(
Same error (500 Internal Server) has happened to me thrice so far today. One was in the early afternoon PST at some point, the others were around 7:15 and 7:35 PST just now. None of them lasted for very long, though somehow the second one also logged me out of the CBG. I refreshed the page and suddenly I was logged out (and got the error when I tried to log in).
Just had a major one shut my access to the site down. This is getting annoying.
8:44 500 Internal Server Error, just trying to log on
Had another one at 10:38, trying to log on once again.
Had another on July 28, at 5:54 PM
I feel like this has started to get a little out of hand lately. This evening I've been getting locked out due to these errors every 10 minutes or so.
They are mostly "500 Internal Server Error" screens, though once I just got a general "page not found" screen (when every other site I tried to load worked fine).
I just got another one (500 error) trying to post this.

I have had the same problem.

Me too. I've been getting tons of hese "500 Internal Server Error"s. In the past couple days (not sure of the exact times) I've gotten them trying to log onto the site, trying to view threads, and trying to post replies. Don't know what is causing these errors, but whatever it is, it needs to be fixed.
I usually get 500'd sometime in the morning (8-11 EST). But most of the time a refresh fixes the problem.
Yesterday was an exception and I was 500'd for a couple hours in the morning.
I also got 500'd around 4 just as the CE game started (refresh fixed that problem).
I've been "unable to connect to server" for the past 8-10 hours at least.

I was unable to connect from 8 AM this morning to roughly 7 at night PST.
