Saw the movie, it was fun, made me think (though not deeply), can't get the soundtrack out of my head.
Looking forward to Batman 3, woo!

Loved the movie. The music was cool too.
I liked it well enough but it had flaws and was far from great. I have no idea why it is so popular and believe you'd have to be pretty simple to find it as mind bending as many do.
What the movie did really well, I thought, was giving a *feeling* of profundity, ominousness, etc,. and the music was huge in that. It's atmosphere was excellent, basically, even if Memento was a bit more twisty/turny, ultimately. Also very cool use of symbolism in places i.e.
the totems, the mechanics of extraction/inception, etc.
I really, really enjoyed it. The previews included such fare as Wall Street II and Tron II, and after years of Shrek sequels, Batman reboots and Bond reboots (which admittedly I enjoyed), belated Superman sequels, freaking Sex and the City movies, and endless adaptations, it's refreshing to see something original.
That said, I do think it would have worked far better as a TV show or mini-series than as a movie. The movie had to go *fast* to deliver all its information, and left what were really tantalizing characters (Ariadne and Arthur especially...
why the chesspiece? why the loaded die, precisely? what was Arthur's previous career like? what did Ariadne have to give up to wor with the team? Any of the characters could've had their own "focus" episodes, and the whole thing could've been done in a "heist a week" style, with the finale of the first season being a 2 part inception, or something).
I loved it. I thought the movie was fantastic. It wasn't "deep" or anything, but it was original, well done and extremely inventive.
Now I hadn't seen any trailers or read any articles about it. So I had no idea about anything walking in to the theatre.
From a cinematographic point of view, I think it was really well done as well. But I know a lot of people hated how it was filmed as well.
