Title: A new name, a (couple) new settings, a new system, and a new internet (plus info on the Newsletter!)
Post by: Xathan on July 13, 2006, 09:04:26 PM
I'm back, everyone. It's been a hell of a week here in Xathanland. I won't bore y'all with the details, and skip right to the fun stuff - what new things you can expect to see from me (and what you can see from me about old things.)

First, the newsletter information you're all waiting for. Do not fear, for in my abscence I did not sit idly by. I'm playing with format for the Newsletter. The first edition will be up by a week from Friday, if not sooner. Anyone with last minute articles, get them in - I have room. It's not going to be visually impressive, not yet - I don't have artwork (though that could change.). What it will have is content. Also, this is important: I need everyone who has sent me an article to resend it, with all the information they are allowing to be OGC in red. I am going to be talking to a lawyer about the CBGuide in the near future to ensure it is 100% legal, and I need everyone's information before I talk to her. Waiting for OGC information is pretty much the only thing that will delay the newspaper's release. So get it in, yo.

Second, I have two new settings in the works, bringing my grand total of posted and unposted settings to...(drum roll please).................48. I did a count of everything I made. One new setting is ultra top secret, so no telly until later on in the post, but the other one is going to be a world for...pirates! Inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, I have big plans for this world. This doesn't mean I don't have new information for my other settings, however, and updating Sooth is what I am going to be doing tomorrow.

Whilest I was away, I was introduced to the World of Darkness system by White Wolf, and I think I'm in love. While not perfect, it is nonetheless superbly awesome. My other, top secret, setting will be making use of this system, and I plan on adapting Thaedia to it,(and adapting it to Thaedia) right after I hear back from the lovely folks at White Wolf on some legal questions I have.

Well, that's it for now. It's good to be back, and resuming my modly duties.

Oh, and don't think I've forgotten about Cebegia. Far from it. :)

I agree. The system is awesome, more realistic, and it completely eliminates levels, which is yay. Plus, it allows you to run a game that is something but heroic without the whole "I take 52 ax blows and I am still standing, yarr!" element.

Yeah, I always used to love the WoD system. Good times playing  Inquisition and Vampire... really wanted to try Werewolf :)

I'm actually thinking of starting a WoD game here. Later on, when I have time. I might just do a WoD open - any WoD creatures, be they Vampires or Werewolves or Wraiths or Mages or Changelings or Demons or Hunters. :D

I've never actually seen the Inquisitor rules: where could I find them?

I'm looking forward to their new Promethian line, it looks really interesting.

I'm not sure where you could find them; it's a smaller book that is based mainly off of Vampire I believe that provides rules for being a human supernaturals hunter with some nifty divine abilities. My favorite Inquisitor that I played had this ability called Via Ignis that let him ignite his sword in holy flame :)

There's Dark Ages: Inquisitor, though that's not the same one I had. It'll probably have a lot of the same material, and it's in the past :)
