Title: The CBG Cartography Showcase
Post by: So-Keher on July 20, 2006, 07:53:59 AM
Yesterday on the  Whole New World discussion, Ishmayl presented to me the idea of a thread where anyone and everyone could show off their skills, get opinions on their work, and learn from other cartographers around the site. I was so excited I had to start it right away. So post away and don't be shy, we're all friends here!

Yours Truly,
So-Keher :)

P.S: Please try to limit posts to hand-done work, but of course no maps are restricted from this thread. Thx.

[ooc]EDIT: This thread has moved to MAP SHOWCASE under the same sub-genre.[/ooc]

I figured I'd start this party off with a bang. It's a piece from The Fænaëd Chronicles that can be seen in other threads as well. I give you North Galetea:

[ooc]Method: For anyone that was wondering, thsi map was doen on lightweight graph paper with 9mm soft lead. First a rough outline was drawn based on the world map (not shown) and then traced over darker and with as manny fragmented edges as possible. Next was added simple outlines of trees/mountains which were then shaded appropriately. Trunks and cast-shadows were added to trees and finally the waves were drawn in. Easy-peasy lemon squeezy! :P [/ooc]
