Question: should wolverine be allowed to carry and use a sword?

personally, i think its ridiculous. i see more point in him carrying an uzi thn i do in him carrying a sword. thats saying something when youre talking about a guy thats a freakin samurai!

Agreed... pointless... as Wolverine is fond of saying, he's the best at what he does, and has little need for a sword, other than as yet another Marvel gimmick

I'm in the same camp...unless it is used for a duel of honor, where anything but a katana would be disgraceful...or used when training someone else to use a sword, since the fighting style required for his claws would be entirely different. However, he should never use it anywhere in a real battle. Ever.

thats where i would disagree. keep in mind, the guy is a samurai.

if hes being shot at, his going to have no problems chopping off an enemies hand to use that gun, but he does try to keep a sense of honor.

Hey! It's Wolverine. YOU gonna tell him he can't use a sword? Maybe he just wants to change it up a bit... maybe he's getting bored with cutting people into ribbons with his claws. Maybe the sword is magical, or maybe he's training to use a magical sword, the only sword that can destroy (insert impressive name here), THE CONQUERER! Who is soon to come and rape galactus and then destroy the universe. What will Goku do? Er.... nevermind.

No, Green Lantern wouldn't need clothes.  He could make them.  He usually wears them, anyway.  The uniform comes from the ring.

isnt obvious? he resents his berserker wildside. he needed to bring order into his life, and amongst his travels, he trained as a samurai to do that.

'Wolverine' rolls off the tongue. 'Wolverine the Swordsman' doesn't. 'Samurai Wolverine' is debateable, but still not as cool as just 'Wolverine'. He can have a sword if he wants.

Unless you read Wolverine, you wouldn't know that.  I only know the basics about him.
