Quote from: Round 5 of Combatinit(27) Saelin climbs up to the ledge behind Gilbert.

init(26) Gilbert finds a soft spot on the dragon's back and sinks his knife in deep.

init(20) Dragon  ROARS! in pain, turns to face Gilbert, and leaps on him, slashing and biting.

(Grapple attempt) [dice]1d20+11[/dice]
Gilbert gets an AoO. (to hit AC 19)  --- even if I miss, you get the Aoo

if I miss: [spoiler]Attck 2 (Grapple attempt) [dice]1d20+11[/dice]
if Gilbert has 'improve attack of op', or whatever, then you get another aoo.[/spoiler]
We'll continue, once the grapple has been solved. :D[/ooc]

Meta (Archived) / Opt for the visible.

you're right.
trapping, a character is scarier than hurting them.

but if you trap them in a way that totally prevents them from taking part in the action, its just annoying.

[ooc] What 'shadow' ?
we're in the middle of an arena.
Let's just stick to the middle, and gang up on everything.
(my opinion).[/ooc]

CeBeGia / What's up with Cebegia?

QuoteI don't plan on writing something that isn't going to make the cut...seems like a waste of time.

This may be a lot of people's problem.

I don't think we need to worry about voting when it comes to details.

If someone spends a crap load of time developing a culture, it would be rude to 'vote' it out.

We already know that we want to have lots of diff societies,  pantheons, etc.   Its probably in our best interest to start assigning stuff (rather, people volunteering).
Then, once we have a LOT of information, we can see what doesn't fit together, and hopefully just make minor changes.

i dunno.

personally,  i feel that we are at a 'crunch' stage to some degree.
its easy to throw out random ideas, but we need to start delving into specifics.

I think we all have a pretty good idea of what the world is like.
Now we need to start fleshing it out, and become more specific.

Roleplaying (Archived) / Random Encounters
April 17, 2006, 10:04:12 AM
We should add 'restricted items'  to the DM's option when creating a Random Encounter.

I believe it's becoming painfully[/b] obvious that poitions, and especially wands are rediculously valuable in the frame of a single encounter.

You don't have to ban items, but I suggest the DMs at least put limitations on their character's non-combat equipment.  If you don't impose restrictions as a DM, then the games are going to become either terribly lop-sided, or terribly long (as, the monsters become powerful enough to heal themselves... ;))

Overall, I believe the egregious use of '3rd-party healing magic' will hurt the encounters.

for the time-being, dont edit anything.

just say 'disregard last roll'  and roll again, in a new post.

that will keep them from going crazy.
