Sad news:

As Nov. 6, I will not be playing World of Warcraft. The reason is primarily financial: without any income and a rather large credit card debt, I cannot justify $15 a month on any game. I hope to be back soon - once I have an income again, I'll be buying prepaid game cards. However, I don't know when that will be.

In the meantime, I plan on getting the most out of my remaining days. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up. :)

I think the second one needs some work. It's really interesting, but has some major holes - who built the pyramids/pillars, if the ground is so dangerous? How did they get built without magic? Where did the resources come from? Why don't the barbarians just topple the cities by refusing to trade? (If the cities rely on the barbarians for supply, and the barbarians don't have a compelling need for the cities, then the barbarians win, period.)

I like drizzt's suggestion, but it still has the same problems when it comes to trade. You need to have the barbarians need the cities as much as the cities need them.

The first idea, IMO, is made of pure win...for a story. For an RP setting, it'd be interesting, but unless the characters interact with the monster in some meaningful way, or the moving cities and such provide more for RP than just cool background, it'd feel a bit gimmicky. How would the cool elements of the setting (because they do sound awesome) affect players in such a world? Not everyday people. It's pretty obvious how it impacts them. But what cool things could players do in this world that they couldn't do anywhere else?

For pally quest, I still need everything but the insignia - though, honestly, I'd probably complete it mainly because it looks cool and will look even cooler enchanted than for the actual stats, since running through SFK will get you much better stuff.

an RPPvP would be fun, but I don't want to give up the gold I made on Inscription Day. :P Plus, I've got a fair number of contacts on ER, so I'm not too quick to leave. If people from here would be playing on the new realm, I'd join, but only to try out the PVP aspect.

If we do, could we please do Alliance? I'd like to play and NE or Draenei, since I'm not a big fan of most other Horde races and I'm freakin SICK of the BE starting area. Big magic city loses it's charm the 10,000,000,000,000th time.

Yeah, but I added you to my friends - just didn't catch you online, I guess.

btw, my alt (Shaaytha) has become my effective main...I'm having a ton more fun with her, though Eldress is still going to be on from time to time. Go ahead and add Shaay to your friends, and wsp if you see me online. :)

I actually  haven't gotten a chance to try out my paly yet. Since inscription looked so cool, I had my level 15 hunter have some herbs in reserve.

When Earthen Ring started up, I had 1.25g, a stack of 17 swifthisle, and 14 peacebloom.

I currently have 500+ gold, did not price gouge, (not counting the ~250g I spent on mats) a fair amount of mats...and I'm still pulling around 5-25g a glyph, generally undercutting the price-gougers by 50% (making sure I sell them high enough to make up for the cost of mats and still get a profit.)  I also have that 500+ after shipping ~100g to my pally - enough to switch her to enchanting, with more than enough mats to get to 225 - AND buying a ton of new gear (including some blues) for both toons. O.o

I'll probably resume actually playing soon, but for now, I'm loving the AH. :D

Man, Earthen Ring is bugged all to hell...I found myself walking around a totally empty Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluffs...and then fell off the Bluffs and didn't get killed, even though I was at 0hp.

Creepy.

EDIT: For the record, my Mok'Nathal characters work fine, so it's the server, not the whole patch.

So, to make conversation, anyone here looking forward to the new content in 3.0.2? I'm having my hunter go inscription once I manage to get on.
