Roleplaying (Archived) / Keep on the Shadowfell [IC]

[ic]Roy swings yet again at the kobold.[/ic][ooc]Righteous Brand against D1: [dice]1d20+5[/dice]
If it hits: [dice]1d8+3[/dice] and Seraphine_Harmonium gets a +3 power bonus to melee attack rolls against the same target until the end of my next turn.[/ooc]

[ooc]Ninja D! (and RoM), your attacks this round were actually 2 higher (though I am not sure it will help), due to my Divine Glow.[/ooc]
#3
Have you considered converting to Erathis? :)

[ic=Roy]Seeing the lacking effect of his ineffectual mace, Roy instead raises his holy symbol towards Brandis, the elf and the nearby kobold (D.2). As a white light shines out from it, Brandis and Nally feel strengthened in their attacks, but the kobold is seared by it.[/ic][ooc]Standard Action: Divine Glow (close blast 3, from L17 to N19, that should cover Brandis too, wherever he goes).
Ninja D! and Poseidon, you both get a +2 power bonus to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.
Divine Glow against kobold D.2: [dice]1d20+3[/dice] vs Reflex.
Damage: [dice]1d8+3[/dice] radiant.

Status: Untouched. Thanks Erathis![/ooc]

[ic=Roy Culate]Roy moves around the nearest kobold to stand side by side with the unknown elf. The swing from his mace trails a radiant shield in front of him and his ally.[/ic]

[ooc]Move action: Move to L-16 through M-15 to avoid OA from D.1
Free action: Divine Fortune to get +1 to attack roll.
Standard action: Priest's Shield on D.1. If it hits, both Ninja D! and I get a +1 power bonus to AC till the end of my next turn.
Attack: [dice]1d20+6[/dice]
Damage: [dice]1d10+3[/dice][/ooc]

Ah, alright. I thought I should start it after the world had been generated.
I suppose "Hidden Fun Stuff" can be veins and so on? :)

I picked this up yesterday or the day before, but hadn't seen that there was going to be an update. I have already started by following one of the wiki tutorials.

Is anyone else using the "prettied" up version with the better graphics?

(Also Carp, I couldn't figure out how to use the Regional Prospector - maybe because I am using the other version?)

40 years is quite short, but the average lifespan might also be longer with magic available (depending on how rare magic is in your world).

No, nothing mechanical in regards to corruption. I just remember that they said that in earlier editions, the flavour text of Humans suggested that they had no bad traits. I just thought your own flavour text might come across the same way (and since your setting is for 4e, you might want to adopt the corruption element).

[ooc]Ninja D!, I just noticed that you need to add some hp to your current. You gain 6 hp from your healing surge, plus the 8 from me (1d6+3), so you should be at 22 currently.[/ooc]

Since Ra replied just before me:
I too understood it as you wanted response on the formatting and layout.

Setting preview:
I can't put my finger on it, but I feel the "headlines" in the setting preview isn't so good in the right side. Maybe it has something to do with the direction we read in. I see it haven't been mentioned before, but it was something I looked at and thought a bit about, so it might just be a matter of personal preference. It is no fatal flaw :)

I like the text in the setting preview and I also believe the message is clear (though I had read the comments first, so the fact that the world is stagnant might have been imprinted in my head).

Humans:
I like how you have reduced the average human lifespan to 40 years.

I haven't seen how you are describing the other races, but one thing I was wondering is if you want humans to be the diverse and adaptable race as for instance D&D makes them? (Is this setting for a specific rules system?)
I believe that 4e introduced a negative trait to humans (easily corruptible), whereas they seemed to have no negative traits in earlier editions (in contrast to the other races). Are you planning something similar?

[ooc]Yeah, allows the target to spend one. So you don't have to if you don't want. :P[/ooc]

[ooc]HP 24

Move action: Move to J-12.
Minor action: Cast Healing Word on Nally (Healing surge + [dice]1d6+3[/dice]).
Standard action: Cast Lance of Faith on M1 ([dice]1d20+3[/dice] vs Reflex. If it hits: Damage: [dice]1d8+3[/dice] and Brandis gets a +2 to his next attack roll against that target).
[/ooc]

[ic]As the battle begun, Roy realised he had been too relaxed and was not at all prepared for the battle ahead, but is glad he wasn't travelling alone. Surveying the battle, Roy realises that whoever this unknown elf is, he seems to have disrupted the ambush that was waiting, but gotten himself in over his head at the same time.

Roy moves closer to the elf, praying shortly for Erathis to bless those who seek to assist them. He then focuses at the kobold between the trees and a ray of light flies towards it.

Rose Of Montague, would it be possible for me to target Ninja D! with a power that targets an "ally"?
I figure he could count as one as it seems like we both fighting the kobolds.
