No Follow Up

Ever been sitting there watching something for the umpteenth time and notice something new and just fucking awexome? And then there's NO FOLLOW UP.

Like the first time I noticed in the Eva movies that the JSSDF's tanks are all emblazoned with the Hitler Youth logo (do NOT follow a WWII documentary with anime... EVER). Or watching this new series, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I know they were trying to be cute or funny by putting it out of chronological order, but AUGH!)... in the first ep the cat talks. And it has the most awesome villainous voice EVER... and that's it. No more. Ever. WTF. Or, in the island stuff, there's the closeup on the girl tearing up letter and some photos. Had nothing to do with anyhing. Or a random closeup on a mole... I have no idea why that bugs me. But... WHY?

More importanly, my question... have you ever been tempted to follow up on some loose end that was left untied? Cat villains or the Nazis come back or some plotline where a conspicuous mole actually has some meaning (if you think I'm crrazy, it's because you haven't seen that MOLE). What was it and how did it go?
